Integration of WHMCS and ConvertKit

  • Introduction.
  • WHMCS is an open source, web-based billing and support ticketing system for hosting providers. It lets users manage clients, create services, send invoices, etc. WHMCS is easy to use and install, but like anything else it has its limitations. Integration with ConvertKit will help us overcome these limitations.

    .

WHMCS has its limitations in the way it handles the email marketing of its clients. While WHMCS does have support for sending newsletters through MailChimp, only the entire domain can be added to MailChimp. If I want to add my WordPress blog to MailChimp, I would have to add the whpe domain in WHMCS. This is not ideal because I would have to add all my other websites to the newsletter as well.

I would like to introduce my new website to my existing list of fplowers so none of my existing subscribers would receive duplicate emails. This means that I would have to create a new campaign in my MailChimp account with the target group of “people who haven’t subscribed to my site yet”. The problem with this method is that I would have to buy a separate list from MailChimp or hope that I have space left in the main list. If I want to sign up for a free plan from MailChimp, I can only import 500 contacts at a time. There is a 10,000 contact limit on the free plan, but that would take time and money to reach.

By integrating WHMCS and ConvertKit I will be able to link my lists together and connect them with one another. From there I would be able to import all of my lists into one central location and create a newsletter from anyone of those lists. Not only will this save me money from buying multiple lists from MailChimp, but it will also save space on my MailChimp account as well as time as I won’t have to create multiple campaigns for each list individually.

    .

In conclusion, by integrating WHMCS and ConvertKit we can overcome many of the limitations that WHMCS has regarding email marketing. We can use the lists that we have already created for our other websites and send out a newsletter to our current subscribers. This will save us both time and money as we won’t have to purchase additional lists from MailChimp and we only have to create one campaign instead of creating multiple campaigns for each list separately.
