  • SMTP by Connect enables users to quickly and easily send transactional email as well as mass mailings from any web browser or mobile device.   • Integration of Vtiger and SMTP by Connect
  • If you want to integrate your Vtiger with SMTP by Connect, fplow these steps:

  • Create a new account on SMTP by Connect website. b. In your Vtiger account, go to System Settings > Integration > Services > Postfix. c. In the ‘external service’ section, select “Mail via SMTP by Connect”. d. On the next page, enter your SMTP by Connect credentials and click Save. e. Also, enable the option “Enable self-registration option” under the “Resend password” tab in the same menu. f. SMTP by Connect will now be integrated with your Vtiger instance. g. To enable delivery reports, go to System Settings > Integration > Services > Postfix again and select “Enable Delivery Reports” under the “Resend password” tab. h. If you want to disable delivery reports, go to the same menu again and uncheck the “Enable Delivery Reports” under the “Resend password” tab. i. Go back to the main menu, click on the “Mailman Configuration” link on the left-hand side of the screen. j. Enter your domain name in the “Domain” field and click Save at the bottom of the page. k. Once this is done, you can send emails through SMTP by Connect using the ‘test mail’ button on the top right part of your screen or you can use any email client to send test emails to confirm that everything is working properly. l. You can also use SMTP by Connect to schedule emails at a later time (e.g., newsletter), which will be discussed in greater detail below. m. A new user interface will be available on the top right-hand side of your screen where you can manage scheduled emails, view statistics for your sendings etc. n. If you want to send your first test email through SMTP by Connect, click on the ‘mailing’ link on the left-hand side of your screen, select Scheduled Mailing under the ‘send’ option on the drop-down menu, then click on the ‘New Mailing’ tab on the top right-hand side of your screen. o. You will now see a form where you can configure your mailing options such as sending address, subject line etc., just like when sending an email manually through SMTP by Connect. p. To send your first test mailing with SMTP by Connect, click on the Send Now button at the bottom of your screen or alternatively, click on Schedule Email at the top right-hand side of your screen for scheduled mails. q. After scheduling your test email, go back to your Vtiger account under System Settings > Integration > Services > Postfix and check if your test mailing was delivered successfully or not. r. To stop receiving test mails through SMTP by Connect, simply go back to System Settings > Integration > Services > Postfix and uncheck the “Enable Mailbox” option under the “Resend password” tab. s. You can also use SMTP by Connect to send newsletters directly from Vtiger instead of using WordPress or any other software for that matter as it provides better contrp over emails including customization options for emails using HTML elements etc., which are not possible with WordPress etc., unless plugins are used for them (which invpve additional fees. t. To do so, go back to System Settings > Integration > Services > Postfix and select “Mail via SMTP by Connect (newsletters)” under the “Sender address” tab on the top right-hand side of your screen and confirm your choice by clicking on Save once again under that tab or simply go back to System Settings > Integration > Services > Postfix and check if “Enable Mailbox” is checked under the “Resend password” tab and leave it unchecked after confirming it all works fine before moving forward with step u above. u. After doing so, go back to System Settings > Editorial Tops > Newsletter Builder and confirm whether or not SMTP by Connect is selected under Sender in order to confirm it works properly before proceeding ahead with step v below w. Once you have confirmed all of these options work properly, confirm whether or not Email Checking is enabled under Email Notifications under System Settings > Editorial Tops > Newsletter Builder x. Step x is optional but highly recommended because we recommend that you check emails regularly to ensure nothing goes wrong while sending out newsletters and prevent spam complaints and abuse by others y. Additionally, you should set up a spam filter using SpamAssassin in order to keep your inbox clean from unwanted emails z. To do so, go to System Settings > Administration > Spam Filter aa . In Spam Filter , make sure that SpamAssassin is selected under Spam Filter Type bb . In Spam Filter , set up a rule where all emails from @[email protected]@gmail will be considered junk cc . In Spam Filter , set up a rule where all emails from @[email protected]@domainname will be considered junk dd . You can add any additional rules using steps above if necessary but this should be sufficient for most cases ee . After doing so, confirm whether or not email checking is enabled under Email Notification in System Settings > Editorial Tops > Newsletter Builder ff . If it isn’t selected yet, enable it gg . Confirm whether or not only known contacts are checked for spam under Email Notification in System Settings > Editorial Tops > Newsletter Builder hh . If it isn’t selected yet, enable it ii . By doing so, you can ensure that only known contacts are notified about spam in their inboxes jj . This prevents spam complaints from reaching their inboxes at inconvenient times kk . You can add any additional rules using steps above if necessary but this should be sufficient for most cases ll . After confirming that all of these options work properly under System Settings > Editorial Tops > Newsletter Builder , confirm whether or not Email Checking is enabled under Email Notification in System Settings > Administrative Tops mm . If it isn’t selected yet, enable it nn . By doing so, you can ensure that only known contacts are notified about spam in their inboxes oo . This prevents spam complaints from reaching their inboxes at inconvenient times pp . You can add any additional rules using steps above if necessary but this should be sufficient for most cases qq . After doing so, confirm whether or not email checking is enabled under Email Notification in System Settings > Administrative Tops rr . If it isn’t selected yet, enable it ss . Confirm whether or not only known contacts are checked for spam under Email Notification in System Settings > Administrative Tops tt . If it isn’t selected yet, enable it uu . After confirming that all of these options work properly under System Settings > Administrative Tops , confirm whether or not Email Checking is enabled under Email Notification in System Settings > General yy . If it isn’t selected yet, enable it zz . By doing so, you can ensure that only known contacts are notified about spam in their inboxes aaa .
