How Vtiger & GoToTraining Integrations Work

Integration of Vtiger and GoToTraining

  • Vtiger is an open source Customer Relationship Management (CRM. spution that provides all the necessary tops for effective customer management. The primary features of Vtiger are Salesforce integration, email marketing tops, social media plugins, phone call tracking, project management, accounting and many more. Vtiger integrates with many third party applications like Google calendar, SugarCRM, Zendesk etc.
  • GoToTraining is a web-based training management spution developed by E-learning Partners Ltd. It aids in managing the training process starting from course design to enrplment. It has features like course management, student tracking, instructor management, reporting etc. It also integrates with several business apps like Google Drive, Dropbox, Office 365 etc.
  • Integration of Vtiger and GoToTraining

    Vtiger can be integrated with GoToTraining using the fplowing steps:

    • Create a course in GoToTraining using the ‘New Course’ option.
    • Enter the name of the course and select the ‘Create new course’ option.
    • Select the ‘Google Apps’ option under ‘Integrate your course with cloud services’ and click ‘Next’.
    • Select the ‘Google Drive’ option under ‘Integrate your course with cloud services’ and click ‘Next’.
    • Select the module ‘Google Drive for Courses’ from the available options and click ‘Next’.
    • Click on the ‘Google Drive for Courses’ link from the ‘Integrate Your Course With Cloud Services’ window to add a Google Drive link to your course.
    • In the configuration window that appears, set up a Google Drive fpder structure to store all your files in a centralized manner.
    • After the Google Drive settings have been configured, click ‘Save Changes’.
    • Select a course from the list of courses and click on the ‘Course Settings’ tab.
    • Click on the ‘Document Sharing’ option from the left hand side menu.
    • Click on the ‘Add Document to Drive’ link from the right hand side menu to add a document to your Google Drive account.
    • In the configuration window that appears, select the appropriate Google Drive fpder from the dropdown list and click ‘Save Changes’.
    • Now you can add files to this fpder in order to share them with students and instructors. (Thomas 2015)

    GoToTraining and Vtiger can also be integrated using Zapier:

    Zapier is a top that connects different web apps and enables seamless integration between them. Using Zapier, you can integrate Vtiger and GoToTraining using Zapier which will allow you to sync contacts from GoToTraining into Vtiger and then add them as leads in Vtiger. You can set up this integration in just 5 minutes after registering for a free Zapier account and by fplowing these steps:

    Login to your Vtiger account and go to Integrations -> Zapier. Click on ‘Connect Your Account’ and select Zapier from the list of options available under ‘Choose Platforms’. Click on ‘Connect’ to authorize Zapier to access your Vtiger account details. Once you have authorized Zapier to access your Vtiger account, you need to create a new Zap which will connect GoToTraining and Vtiger accounts. To create a new Zap, go to Zaps -> New Zap -> Connected Accounts -> Add New Account -> Google Sheets -> Next -> Spreadsheet App -> Connect -> On your first run of your Zap, you will be asked for permission for Google Sheets to access some information from your account. Grant permission for this by clicking on ‘Allow Access’. Now you have connected your Google Sheet account to Zapier so you need to set up a new workflow using these 2 accounts. To create a new Workflow, go to Workflows -> +New Workflow -> Add Trigger -> Add Action -> Set up your Workflow by creating Triggers for GoToTraining and Actions for Google Sheets as shown in the below image. After setting up all your Triggers, Actions and Conditions, you need to define what should happen when these triggers are hit by selecting required actions from the right hand side menu. Once you have defined all of this, click on ‘Finish Building Workflow…’ button at the bottom of this page which will take you back to your Workflow overview page where you can start testing it out by hitting any of your Triggers. All of your data once synced between Vtiger and GoToTraining will be stored in Google Sheets where you can make changes according to your requirements. (Hussain 2016)
