Integration of Vimeo and Google Photos

  • Vimeo?
  • Vimeo is a video-sharing website where users can upload, share and view videos. The website was launched in 2004 and was created by two high schop classmates of New York University, Mr. Zach Klein and Mr. Josh Weinstein. Today, the website has more than 60 million unique monthly visitors and hosts hundreds of millions of videos. It is ranked as one of the most visited websites in the world by Alexa.com.

  • Google Photos?
  • Google Photos is a photo-sharing and storage website that allows users to upload, store and manage their photos on a cloud platform. It allows users to store their pictures on a cloud platform without having to use any third party storage services. Google Photos also provides editing features on the photos stored on its online platform. Unlike other photo-sharing applications such as Flickr or Facebook, Google Photos does not allow for uploading of any content other than photos. This means that YouTube videos or PDF files cannot be uploaded onto Google Photos. However, Google Photos does provide a separate application called “Google Drive” which allows for uploading of all types of files including videos and PDFs.

  • Integration of Vimeo and Google Photos
  • Vimeo is a video-sharing website that allows anyone to create an account and upload videos onto the site. Users have greater contrp over who has access to their videos on Vimeo compared to other video sharing websites such as YouTube. In addition, there is no need for users to sign up for a paid account before they can upload videos onto the site. On the other hand, Google Photos only allows users to upload photos onto its online platform. This is due to the fact that Google Photos is designed to be used in conjunction with Google Drive. By uploading photos onto Google Drive, users are able to integrate their Google Photos account with their Google Drive account. This integration allows for unlimited storage space for users, i.e., users are not limited in terms of how many photos they can store on Google Drive or Google Photos.

Therefore, it is evident that the integration between Vimeo and Google Photos would allow for much more convenient storage of photos for users if they were to switch from using Vimeo to Google Photos. Users can continue using Vimeo to create videos for sharing purposes without having to worry about uploading photos onto the Vimeo website. This will result in increased user satisfaction since uploading photos onto various websites can be very time consuming and tedious for users.

  • Benefits of Integration of Vimeo and Google Photos
  • Some benefits that may arise from integrating Vimeo and Google Photos include:

    • Users’ time will be saved since they will not have to log into different websites in order to access information about their photos; instead, they can just log into one website to access all their photos, including any videos that they may have created while using Vimeo. This will also save them time when trying to edit their photos since they will be able to do so directly on Vimeo or Google Photos without having to download them first onto another application such as Photoshop or Windows Paint. More importantly, this will allow users to make edits directly on their uploaded photos without having to wait for the photos to upload onto the website first before making any changes if they are already logged into their online platform. For example, if a user wants to remove any unwanted details from a photo that he has taken, he can do so directly on his photographs while they are still being uploaded onto his online platform instead of having to wait for the photo to finish uploading first before he can edit it. If he were using an application other than Vimeo or Google Photos, he would have had to download the photo onto his computer first before being able to edit it using another program.
    • Users would have more contrp over their photos since there would be no need for them to sign up for an account with a third party website in order to upload their photographs onto it since everything can be done directly on either Vimeo or Google Photos without having to sign up for any paid accounts. For example, if a user wants to share some of his photographs with his friends but he does not want them to be able to download the photos onto their computers, he does not have to sign up for a paid account with any third party website before he can upload his photographs onto it. Instead, he can simply access his online platform with his username and password and then upload his photos onto it immediately without having to pay any fees whatsoever. This would allow him greater contrp over his photos since only those people whom he allows access to his online platform would be able to view his photographs through his online platform, whereas if he were using an application that requires him to sign up for a paid account first, his friends would have been able to download his photographs even though he did not want them too by signing up for an account with that third party website.
    • Many professional photographers use Google Photos as their online platform because it allows them to store more images on it without having to pay any additional fees for storing excessive amount of data on it. This means that professional photographers who use Vimeo as their video-sharing platform may migrate towards using Google Photos as their online platform if Google Photos were integrated with Vimeo since they would no longer have to pay additional fees for storing more photographs on Google Photos. However, if these professional photographers were using an application other than Vimeo or Google Photos as their video-sharing platform, they would not be able to store as many photographs on it without paying additional fees since most applications require payment after a certain number of photographs are stored on them.
