That means that each individual question will have its own page, with the exception of some questions which have one text box on both sides. Since each question has its own page, this means that you will have 2 pages per question in total. This means that you will have two pages to answer Question 1, two pages for Question 2, etc., until you have used up all 6 pages. Example Let’s say that Question 1 asks about “The Impact of Digitalization on Society” and has 3 lines for writing. This means that there are 6 lines in total. If Question 1 had only 3 lines, there would be only 3 lines in total (3 lines for Question 1 + 3 lines for Question 2. How is the TOEFL iBT’s article scored The article is scored based on the number of words used in each paragraph (this includes the question stem. and number of lines per paragraph (excluding the lines in the question stem. So if you answer Question 1 using 6 lines (the maximum allowed per question is 6), but use only 3 lines in every paragraph (2 lines per paragraph is the minimum required), then Answer 1 is not scored highly since there were too few lines per paragraph. The goal is to use as many lines as possible per paragraph while still answering all parts of the question with complete sentences. Here’s another example. Let’s say Question 1 asks about “The Impact of Digitalization on Society” and has 6 lines for writing, Question 2 asks about “The Benefits of Using Social Media” and has 4 lines for writing, and Question 3 asks about “The Usefulness of Artificial Intelligence” and has 5 lines for writing. If you wrote an article that was 10 lines long (6+4+5), then it would be scored high because there were at least 5 lines per paragraph (10/3 = 3+4+5 = 10. a paragraph A paragraph is a group of sentences that are connected by a single topic. When writing each paragraph, you must make sure that every sentence has a topic sentence and a main idea. These ideas will connect all of the sentences together into a paragraph. In addition, make sure that each sentence builds up to the overall main idea of the paragraph! In order to get full credit, each paragraph must have a topic sentence and a main idea . However, if you only have one paragraph for each question, then it doesn’t matter if you have a topic sentence or a main idea in each sentence! This means that you could just fill up 2 pages with several sentences without any topic sentences or main ideas! How many paragraphs should each question have Each question should have at least 2 paragraphs. In many cases though, there will be at least 3 paragraphs per question. In other words, every question should have at least 2 paragraphs and no more than 4 paragraphs! Use these formulas to calculate how many paragraphs each question has. Maximum amount of paragraphs. [# Lines] x [# Lines Per Paragraph] = [Max # of Paragraphs] Minimum amount of paragraphs. [# Lines] - [# Lines Per Paragraph] = [Min # of Paragraphs] For example. Let’s say Question 1 asks about “The Impact of Digitalization on Society” and has 6 lines for writing AND there are 2 lines per paragraph (the minimum. Then we can calculate how many paragraphs there will be. [6] x [2] = 12 (Max # of Paragraphs. [6] - [2] = 4 (Min # of Paragraphs. In this case, the maximum number of paragraphs will be 12 because there are 6 lines for writing and there are 2 lines per paragraph (12/2 = 6. However, in this case we will actually have 4 paragraphs because we used up all 6 lines but only wrote 2 lines per paragraph (4/2 = 2. However, in this case we will actually have 4 paragraphs because we used up all 6 lines but only wrote 2 lines per paragraph (4/2 = 2. What should I write in my article Make sure that you answer all parts of the question fully! Start by writing down what the question asks in each line so that you know what you need to cover in each paragraph. Next, write down what main points you want to convey in each paragraph. Finally, go through each main point and write down how you will support it with evidence from your reading(s. Don't forget to cite any sources properly! How much time should I spend on writing my article Your articles will be worth 200 points out of 600 possible points - this means that they count for 40% of your final score! That’s why it is very important to allocate enough time on writing them correctly! Therefore, it is important that you give yourself enough time on writing them!
