Twitter is a social networking service where users are able to post and read short 140-character messages called tweets. Users can also send and read other types of messages by direct message, a private messaging system. Registered users can post tweets via the web or as an SMS (Short Message Service. from their mobile phones. Twitter Inc. is based in San Francisco and has regional offices in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dublin, London, and Tokyo. Twitter was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz Stone, and Noah Glass and launched in July 2006.

Microsoft Teams?

Microsoft Teams is a cross-platform Microsoft communication and cplaboration top that combines chat, video calling, voice calling, and sharing in a single application. Teams is part of Office 365 Enterprise E5 and Office 365 Education A5 and above plans. It features persistent chat, a sidebar for file sharing, group audio and video calling, along with integration with Microsoft's Office Suite. Microsoft Teams is designed to be a direct competitor to services like Slack.

Microsoft Teams launched on June 6th of 2017 with the purpose of allowing users to access ongoing conversations across multiple services (including Skype for Business. Users are able to access the conversations through the Microsoft Team's channel. The service also includes a tab for Twitter direct messages which allows users to receive direct messages sent from Twitter users directly inside of the Teams application. On January 31st 2018, Microsoft announced that Twitter will be integrated into the service for direct messaging allowing users to reply directly from the desktop app.
