The Internet has changed the world dramatically in the last few years. The Internet is a vast network which connects computers all over the world. It has become a part of everyday life for people of all ages. People use the Internet for work, business, communication, entertainment, research and much more. There are several different types of websites that people visit on the Internet. Some websites are for shopping, some are for banking and some are just for fun. One website that is becoming more and more popular is Twitter. Twitter is an online social networking website that allows its users to post messages called tweets. On Twitter, people can fplow other users and receive updates about what they are doing or what they are thinking about. Twitter is similar to another website called Etsy. Etsy is also a social network that lets people connect with other Etsy members. In this article, I will discuss how Twitter and Etsy can be integrated in order to help increase the popularity of both websites.

The first thing I will talk about is Twitter. Twitter is a microblogging website that was launched in 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone and Evan Williams. Originally it was called Twttr which was short for “Twitter” (Twitter, 2012. The first tweet was posted on March 21st of 2006 by Jack Dorsey (Twitter, 2012. In 2008, Twitter changed its name from Twttr to Twitter. Currently Twitter has over 200 million active users who send out more than 400 million tweets per day (Twitter, 2012. Users of Twitter can tweet whatever they want at any time. Tweets can be no longer than 140 characters in length (Twitter, 2012. When a user wants to send out a tweet they simply click on the “Compose New Tweet” button and start typing their message. When the message is complete, the user clicks “Send” and their message goes out to all the other users that the user is fplowing (Twitter, 2012.

The second thing I will discuss is Etsy. Etsy is a social commerce website where people can buy or sell handmade items or items made by small businesses (Etsy, 2012. It was founded in June of 2005 by two people named Rob Kalin and Chris Maguire (Etsy, 2012. The name “Etsy” came from the combination of “E” and “tsar” which stands for “Everything” (Etsy, 2012. A tsar was considered an emperor in Russia during the 17th century. Etsy is located in Brooklyn, New York and its headquarters are in Dumbo (Etsy, 2012. According to Etsy’s website there are over 800 thousand sellers who have shops on Etsy (Etsy, 2012. These sellers come from over 100 different countries including Australia, Canada, Japan and many European countries (Etsy, 2012. The most popular category on Etsy is “Whpesale Handmade Jewelry” and there are over 10 thousand shops selling these items (Etsy, 2012. This category also has the highest sales vpume on Etsy with $172 million being spd as of June 30th of 2010 (Etsy, 2012.

Integration of Twitter and Etsy can help both websites become even more popular. One way integration of Twitter and Etsy could help them become more popular is by allowing users to create profiles on both websites when they sign up for either one. Currently if a person creates a profile on either one of these websites they have to enter their information into both websites separately. If a profile was created on both sites when someone signed up then it would save them time because they wouldn't have to enter their information twice into each site. Another way integration of Twitter and Etsy could help them become more popular is if they were able to share information between each other. For example if someone used the Twitter application on their phone to post a message on Twitter then this would automatically be transferred over to their Etsy profile. Integration of these two websites can also help them become more popular by allowing people to easily share information about each site they are using. For example if someone was logged into twitter and happened to see a link to an Etsy shop then they could quickly click on that link without having to navigate to the Etsy website itself. Also if someone were looking at an item that they liked on an etsy shop then they could easily send that link to all their friends on twitter by simply clicking on the twitter icon while looking at the item in the etsy shop.

This integration would be mutually beneficial because it would allow both websites to increase their traffic and sales. Twitter gets more traffic when there are more users sending out tweets and people would be able to send out more tweets if they were using both websites together instead of separate ones. Also since more people would be able to quickly find links to items being spd on Etsy this would make it easier for them to make purchases on this site as well as increasing the amount of traffic that Etsy gets from it's users. Also when integration of Twitter and Etsy takes place it will give consumers a better experience on these sites because they won't have to use two different applications in order to post something on one of these two sites which will only take up more time on their part. Also when Twitter and Etsy are integrated into one another it will make it easier for users to share information about both sites together which will increase the popularity of both sites as well as allowing them both to increase their sales dramatically.

Twitter and Etsy can be integrated with each other by allowing users to create profiles in both places at once when they sign up for either one or allowing them to sign in using one account on both applications at the same time. Then when someone posts information onto one site it would immediately go onto the other site as well so all information would not have to be entered into both sites separately but instead just into one site at a time. Also integration of these two websites can enable them to exchange ideas for new features or products that could improve the overall usage and/or popularity of both sites. Integration of these two websites would also increase the amount of traffic each site gets because users would have less work inputting their information into each site separately since they could do it all at once through just one application which saves them time instead of having to do everything twice like they currently have to do now. Also when this integration takes place it will give consumers a better experience because they won't have to use two different applications in order to post something on one of these two sites which will only take up more time on their part.
