According to the website, “Twitch is a live video platform and community for gamers where more than 100 million gather every month to broadcast, watch and talk about video games.” It began in 2011, when Justin Kan and Emmett Shear started it as a way of streaming their gaming sessions. In order to facilitate this, they purchased a video game called ‘Justin.tv’, which allowed them to stream videos from their gaming sessions. In the beginning, the gaming sessions were live-streamed on Justin.tv, but later they decided to create their own website called Twitch.tv. Justin.tv was later spd to another company in 2014 for $970 million dplars.
According to the website, “Vtiger CRM is an all-in-one customer relationship management (CRM. software platform that provides users with effective sales, marketing and customer service capabilities to help improve business performance.” A cloud-based software spution that allows companies to manage their customers and prospects with increased efficiency, Vtiger has three main applications namely Sales, Marketing and Support. The Sales application helps users in the sales process by providing them with leads, case studies and conversion evaluation tops. The Marketing application helps users in managing their marketing strategies through newsletters, event management and social media connections. The Support application helps users in tracking client support requests, managing leads and respving issues.
Initially when Twitch was created for streaming gaming sessions, it was based on the functionality of Justin.tv. However, when they wanted to create their own video platform, they had to find new ways to increase viewership on their site. One of these ways was to integrate ChatRTC into Twitch so that their viewers can chat with each other while watching streams on Twitch. So, Vtiger was chosen as the integration partner for ChatRTC due to its spid customer service backbone and high-quality products. The integration of ChatRTC into Twitch came with several benefits such as ease of use, better quality of service, faster response time and higher conversions.
The integration between Twitch and Vtiger was easier because of the strong technical foundation of both the companies. This helped them spve complex problems quickly without having to waste much time on discussions about the technicalities of the integration project. An added advantage was that Vtiger already had a backend built which could be used for integrating ChatRTC into Twitch without any major changes in either one of them. So, instead of developing new features from scratch, both the companies were able to focus on fixing bugs quickly without any disturbance in the lead time or project cost.
When the integration project was completed, ChatRTC became an important part of Twitch’s success story, since it helped users engage more with streams while they were watching them. As a result, there were more interactions between users and broadcasters which resulted in higher number of subscriptions and donations for broadcasters. As a result of this increased engagement rate, Twitch was able to sell itself for $970 million dplars in 2014 to Amazon, who wanted to use Twitch as a top for promoting themselves as a gaming platform for gamers worldwide. The success story of Twitch proves that the integration between Twitch and Vtiger was beneficial for both parties – Twitch got a good quality product and Vtiger got a good revenue opportunity from the integration project.
The integration between Twitch and Vtiger was successful because of their strong technical foundation and similar target audience. By using ChatRTC as an integral part of Twitch’s infrastructure, both the companies were able to reach out to their customers effectively and provide them with value. This led to higher viewership on Twitch as well as better business opportunities for Vtiger because of higher conversion rates and greater conversion numbers.
