Twitch is a video platform that allows users to stream and watch videos. Users can create an account for free, and then anyone can create streams and upload videos. It was founded by Justin Kan, Emmett Shear, Michael Seibel, and Kyle Vogt in June 2011. The company was acquired by Amazon.com in August 2014 for $970 million. It is headquartered in San Francisco, California.
Pendo is a customer-relationship management software that offers all of the features of other software for the same price. It has customizable dashboards with analytics and user-friendly tops to help businesses manage their customers. This gives them the ability to track and analyze the data they want. Customers can use Pendo to manage their leads, create NPS surveys, manage customer feedback and more.
One of the main reasons I chose these two companies to write about is because they have already started working together to increase business value. Twitch has been integrating Pendo into its platform for a while now. Twitch viewers can use Pendo to give feedback on videos, leave comments and create NPS surveys. This will definitely improve user experience, as well as help build up Twitch’s audience and improve conversions. With this integration, it will be easier for businesses to get feedback from their customers about products they are interested in buying and also help them understand how to fix bugs or issues customers are having with products. This will also give Twitch viewers the ability to give instant feedback on streams, which will allow them to directly interact with streamers. If a streamer wants to know how they can improve their game, or what they need to work on to get better at it, viewers can let them know with the click of a button. This could potentially help streamers grow their audience, which would make them more popular. The information gathered from Pendo could be used by advertisers, streamers and viewers alike.
In the previous section I talked about how Twitch viewers will have the ability to give instant feedback on streams with the click of a button with this integration. One thing that many people don’t know is that there are many individual streamers that make big money by playing video games. While there are some who do it for fun and don’t care about making money off it, others have been able to make a living by playing video games, streaming them live on Twitch and getting paid by ad revenue and donations from fans. The top 100 streamers on Twitch make over $38 million combined every year (Fortnite streamer Ninja makes $500k a month. This integration will allow these streamers to become more popular and potentially increase their income by allowing viewers to see how they rank against other streamers or how they are doing compared to others who play the same games they do. In addition, this integration will allow advertisers to more easily target their audience. The way advertisers currently choose where to put ads is based on the demographics of viewers and engagement metrics like how long someone watched videos or how many times someone clicked on them. With this integration, however, advertisers will be able to see specific metrics like how engaged viewers are with the content being shown while they watch a streamer play a game; how long someone watches before clicking away; whether someone watches using a PC or mobile device; what types of devices they use etc., which will allow advertisers to get better insight into the type of people who will most likely be interested in buying their product or service. They will then be able to place ads that are more relevant to these viewers, which will lead to higher conversion rates and ultimately more revenue for Twitch and Pendo.
