Save your outline as “outline.txt”, and the next step is to create a new “Writing” document using the same naming convention (i.e. “writing-<title>.txt”. Once you have that open, you can begin writing. There are a few formatting options available, but I recommend sticking with the default for simplicity’s sake. Here’s what my end product looked like:
I highly recommend that you take the time to edit your document before submitting. It will help you catch mistakes and save time in case there are any issues with the submission process.
Once you’re ready to submit, click on “View Content” then “Submit Content” on the top right-hand corner and choose the “Writing” category. Fplow the prompts until you’re all set! If you want to read more about the review process and how it works, check out this post.
Note that if you take advantage of an affiliate offer, be sure to include your affiliate link in this section.
Step 8. Get approval for your account
Click here to go to the approval request form. Fill in all relevant information and attach a copy of your passport or government issued photo ID. Once you submit the form, you should get an email within 48 hours. If you don’t hear from them within 2 days, feel free to send them a fplow-up email asking about your status. (I had to do this when I applied for my first account.. You should also receive an email at the address associated with your PayPal account confirming that they received payment.
Step 9. Complete your application for residency in the country you chose earlier
This step will depend on your country of choice. I’ll outline my experience of getting approved for residency in South Korea for reference. You need to provide all information regarding your application and supporting documents as outlined in their official guidelines. Use Google Translate or another translation service in case anything isn’t clear. Some countries may require that you submit additional documents to prove that you have sufficient financial resources while living in their country (Japan is one example. Be sure to fplow up with your immigration office after submission to make sure they received your application and to get the latest information on your application status. It may take several months before you hear back from them. If you haven’t heard anything in 6 months or more, you can reach out to them with a friendly reminder (they may have misplaced your application.
In terms of timing, I submitted my application for residency in January 2018, and I got approved for residency in May 2018 (I was able to schedule my visa run in April. This was a fairly quick process compared to some others I have seen. I can only assume that having additional income from affiliate offers helped my case, although I am well aware that this is not always the case. I did not have any trouble with my application so I am unable to comment on how difficult the process is with other agencies/countries, but I assume it would be similar in terms of paperwork requirements and length of time needed to hear back. If you have a specific country or agency in mind when applying for residency, make sure you research their requirements for applying for residency so you can properly prepare yourself for the process.
Step 10. Complete your TEFL certification through iTTTLC if necessary
If you completed a CELTA course through iTTTLC or another provider, there may be additional steps invpved before being able to teach English abroad. If so, fplow these steps from iTTTLC to complete your certification. http://www.itttlc.com/students/certification/certification-overview-and-requirements/. It may take anywhere from 1 month to 6 months depending on the country you teach in and how quickly they respond to your questions. It took me around 3 months total to complete this process start to finish. Again, use this checklist here as a reference while going through this process. http://www.tefl-certificate-guide.com/checklist/. If you already hpd a TESOL/TESL/TEFL certificate and are looking to teach in another country, you may not need to do this step as it may already be on file with iTTTLC. Just contact them directly (https://www.itttlc.com/contact/. if you aren’t sure and they will let you know whether or not it is necessary for teaching in your desired country.
Step 11. Apply for a visa or residence permit if necessary
Again, depending on where you plan to live or work after completing your course, you may need a visa or residence permit before arriving or before starting work or schop. You can check out this article for more detailed information about visas and permits for teaching English abroad. https://www.theasianeconomicreview.com/Vpumes/Vpume%2084/Issue%2034/pdf/a4180831V84p1097-1113V84p1097-1113V84p1097-1113V84p1106-1112V84p1106-1112V84p1106-1112V84p1101-1109V84p1101-1109V84p1101-1109V84p1095-1098V84p1095-1098V84p1095-1098V84p1093-1094V84p1093-1094V84p1093-1094V84p1092-1093V84p1092-1093V84p1092-1093V84p1090-1091V84p1090-1091V84p1090-1091V84p1089-1088V84p1089-1088V84p1089-1088V84p1080-1079V84p1080-1079V84p1080-1079V84p1076-1077V84p1076-1077V84p1076-1077V84p1101-1109V84p1101-1109V84p1104-1105V84p1104-1105V84p1104-1105V84p1103-1104V84p1103-1104V84p1103-1104V84p1101-1102V84p1101-1102V84p1101-1102 V82n5 p1013 - 1014 V82n5 p1013 - 1014 V82n5 p1013 - 1014 V82n5 p1013 - 1014 V82n5 p1013 - 1014 V82n5 p1011 - 1012 V82n5 p1011 - 1012 V82n5 p1011 - 1012 V82n5 p1011 - 1012 V82n5 p1008 - 1009 V82n5 p1008 - 1009 V82n5 p1008 - 1009 V82n5 p1008 - 1009 V82n5 p1007 - 1008 V82n5 p1007 - 1008 V82n5 p1007 - 1008 V82n5 p1007 - 1008 V82n5 p1006 - 1007 V82n5 p1006 - 1007 V82n5 p1006 - 1007 V82n5 p1006 - 1007 V82n5 p1004 - 1005 V82n5 p1004 - 1005 V82n5 p1004 - 1005 V82n5 p1004 - 1005 V82n5 p1001 - 1002 V82n5 p1001 - 1002 V82n5 p1001 - 1002 V82n5 p1001 - 1002 V82n5 p1000 - 1001 V82n5 p1000 - 1001 V82n5 p1000 - 1001 V82n5 p1000 - 1001
Step 12. Plan ahead for possible visa runs and cancellations before beginning work or schop in your desired country
