Tumblr, an online microblogging platform, allows users to post multimedia and other content to a short-form blog. Users can fplow other users' blogs. Users can "reblog," or forward posts from one blog to another blog that they run. A user's blog can be set to make its posts available publicly, or it can be set to "private," which requires a reader to have a link in order to view the user's blog.

Office 365 is a cloud-based suite of business productivity software and services developed by Microsoft. It includes the Microsoft Office application suite, along with additional services.   • In addition to blogs, Office 365 supports blogs and wikis, which provide multiple authors a top for sharing ideas and providing feedback on each other's work. With Office 365, students can post their homework assignments as blogs, which allows them to include supporting materials such as PowerPoint slides, screenshots and links to articles. In turn, students can give feedback on each other's work by posting comments on the student's blog. Students can then reply to the comments in order to gain more perspective on the assignment and refine the work accordingly. This can be particularly useful when students discuss their homework online through Office 365 instead of sitting together in a classroom. Students who are unable to attend class due to illness or other reasons may still find it easier to complete their homework assignments remotely through Office 365 than through Tumblr's blogging platform.
  • Office 365 also allows instructors to create wikis that are accessible to all students in the course. Instructors can post lecture notes on the wiki and then invite students to comment on the notes. The instructor can then post comments on students' comments to clarify the salient points of the lecture or further explain how a concept applies to a particular situation. This can help students prepare for exams or better understand the material covered in class. If an instructor is interested in moving discussions about a particular topic into the classroom, he or she could take advantage of Office 365's integration with Skype for Business, so that students can use video conferencing software as opposed to Skype's text-chat functionality.
