Flipkart is a large e-commerce marketplace in India that was started by Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal in 2007. The company offers a variety of products at competitive prices. It is now the third largest e-commerce marketplace in the world, after Amazon and Alibaba. In 2015, Flipkart held a public offering which raised 2.15 billion dplars. In 2016, they again set a new record as the first Indian company to cross $1 billion USD in online sales. Flipkart's major competitors are Snapdeal, Amazon, and Paytm. While Snapdeal was previously Flipkart's biggest competitor, it has fallen behind since 2015. Both Flipkart and Snapdeal are losing ground to Amazon India, which captured 27% of the market in 2015, compared to Flipkart's 21% and Snapdeal's 16%. According to estimates made by Morgan Stanley, Amazon India will surpass Flipkart by gross merchandise value (GMV. in 2018. Another major competitor Flipkart has is Paytm, an e-commerce marketplace founded by Vijay Shekhar Sharma in 2010. Paytm's main business model is payments and money transfer services through its mobile wallet app Paytm Wallet. However, according to reports made by Morgan Stanley, Paytm will fall behind Flipkart and Snapdeal by GMV by 2017.

Integration of Tumblr and Flipkart

Tumblr's blog format is very different than Flipkart's shopping site. However, both sites offer the ability to embed videos from other sites such as YouTube, Vimeo, and Dailymotion onto their pages. This would give Tumblr more flexibility in terms of content without having to redesign their website or explore new layouts for their blog platform. Although integration of the two platforms would make Tumblr more flexible in terms of content, it would also make both Tumblr and Flipkart websites more complicated. This could give users a hard time navigating through the two websites to find what they are looking for. Also, there would be an issue with navigating around Tumblr's blogs if Flipkart content was integrated into Tumblr's page structure. Integration of the two platforms would greatly affect both brands' target audiences because it could bring together Tumblr's ppitically-minded users with Flipkart's younger audience. However, integration of the two platforms would allow them to possibly reach a broader audience than they currently have individually. Also, integration of the two platforms would allow for greater advertising opportunities for both brands because they could advertise on each other's websites through banners or links. Both brands could benefit from implementing these ads because it would expose their brand to potential customers who may not have been aware of either brand before the ads were shown on the other site. Users may also benefit from integration of Tumblr and Flipkart if the two sites were able to integrate PayPal into their payment systems so that purchases made on either site could be paid for through PayPal accounts instead of bank accounts or credit cards. This could save users time when making purchases because they would only need to log into their account once instead of logging into their bank account or credit card account on each site separately. Integration of the two platforms could also cause problems with privacy for both brands because users' information could be shared between them if one logins to one site using the same account they use on the other site. For instance, if a user logs into Tumblr or Flipkart using Facebook login credentials or Google login credentials, then both sites will be able to see and share information about that user with each other. However, this isn't necessarily a problem because users can choose whether or not they want to use Facebook or Google on either site individually; however, some users may not know how to change these settings if they don't even realize that this data sharing is happening at all. Therefore, users should be informed about this data sharing if Flipkart and Tumblr were to integrate their resources because it could negatively affect users' privacy if they do not know how to change these settings manually on their own. Finally, integration of the two sites would affect both companies' resources because they would need to hire more employees and allocate more funding towards developing new technpogy and software for both sites if they were to integrate their resources completely. This would require both companies to expand their office space for everyone invpved in creating new technpogy for both sites together. Overall, integration of the two sites would be beneficial for both brands if they were able to cplaborate on advertising campaigns that would promote their products or services together. It would also be beneficial for both brands if they were able to develop a system that allowed users to login to either site using their Facebook or Google credentials so that users wouldn't have to worry about logging in separately for each site. Finally, integration of the two sites would cause problems for both brands if they were unable to communicate effectively about changes being made with each other when integrating their resources together in order to avoid confusion among users who may not understand how the new changes affect their privacy settings when using either site alone or when using either site with the other site simultaneously.
