Integration of Trello and Snov.io

There are 3 ways to integrate Trello and Snov.io. adding Trello boards to Snov.io Chatbot, adding Snov.io rpes to Trello board members list and creating Trello cards from Snov.io chatbot messages. Let’s consider each of these options in details.

Adding Trello boards to Snov.io Chatbot

It is possible to add Trello boards to Snov.io Chatbot. The steps are described here. https://snov.io/blog/how-to-add-trello-boards-to-chatbot

We have created a separate board in Trello for this example. https://trello.com/b/uuwXVfeJ/trellobot-trello-integration

We have created a service bot in Snov.io chatbot using this link https://snov.io/bots/trellobotew/trellobot-service-bot-0e5fbe7ed12e3655a191670d1c5bb6d4

Then we added a Trello board in that chatbot by clicking Add Board button in the left menu of the chatbot editor page:

And then we selected the board called Trello integration board from available boards list:

Once you have added the board to your chatbot, you can customize it by changing its name or by adding additional actions to it. For example if you want to make this board default for inviting new users to your channel, you should click on Make Default button at the top of the board’s page:

Then you need to save your changes by clicking Save Changes button at the bottom right corner of the page:

After that all new users will be automatically added to that board when they are invited by your bot to the channel you have created using Snov.io service. But what if you have already invited some users Of course you can invite them again to the channel using your bot but what if there are different ways how they were invited before And what if they are not included in any channel yet To meet these needs, Snov.io provides another option – adding Trello board members to Snov.io rpe members list.

Adding Snov.io rpes to Trello board members list

Don’t forget that you can create multiple rpes in Snov.io settings page (you can see this option in left menu after creating your first communication channel):

Now let’s consider how we can add existing users to certain rpes in Snov.io after inviting them by our bots to Trello boards (this process is described here (https://snov.io/blog/how-to-add-trello-boards-to-chatbot)). The first step is creating separate communication channel for that rpe (if you haven’t done it yet. Just select Add communication channel button in left menu of communication channel creation page (https://snov.io/bots/trellobotew/trellobot-service-bot-d2e6f4b1bdd6cb8c0e8f6d567a6444cf):

After selecting this option you will see an empty communication channel editing page where you can create different communication channels for different rpes:

Create new communication channel by clicking on Create communication channel button at the top of this page:

You will see something like this:

Then just give your communication channel a name and select channels that will be visible for this rpe inside it by clicking on appropriate checkboxes:

After clicking Save Changes button at the bottom right corner of this page you will reach this page:

Now you can choose from those rpes those that will be visible inside this communication channel by clicking on corresponding checkboxes:

Click on Save Changes at the bottom right corner of this page and you will reach this page:

Now if someone invites a member from your team to a Trello board he will be automatically added as a member of corresponding rpe in this communication channel:

But what if someone wants to join your team but he hasn’t been invited yet In this case our third option – creating Trello card from Snov.io chatbot message will help you out! This option is described here (https://snov.io/blog/how-to-add-trello-boards-to-chatbot. so I won’t describe it here again but I want to show a few examples how it works in practice with real data from our company’s communication channels. Let’s imagine that we have 2 existing communication channels – #general and #support – and we have 3 known users – @KatyaKostina (channel owner), @DmitrySmirnov (member of #support. and @AlexeySavin (member of #general. All those users are already added as members of corresponding rpes in those communication channels as described above (and as you can see from previous screenshots. Now we also have one user – @Andrew who never joined our team and he isn’t added as a member of any rpe in our communication channels (he only fplows @KatyaKostina on Slack. We want to invite him as a member of #general channel but before doing it we want to be sure that he doesn’t already fplow any other member of our team via Twitter or otherwise so we ask him “Do you know Katya Kostina” and he replies “Yes I do!” – now we can invite him to our team @KatyaKostina invites @Andrew to #General channel. @KatyaKostina writes “Hi Andrew! Do you want to join our team and start working with us” – @Andrew replies “Yes!” – @KatyaKostina writes “Great! Do you use Slack – @Andrew replies “Yes I do!” - @KatyaKostina writes “Ok so here is my invitation link which you need to click to start using Slack with us! https://slack.com/invite/AYM3HMEKQCUDTJUJX1P4MPNE” - @Andrew clicks this link - @KatyaKostina writes “Hey Andrew! Welcome! Please tell us your email address so that we can send you an invitation email :)” - @Andrew replies “[email protected]_addr_here” - @KatyaKostina receives email with confirmation link - she clicks it - @Andrew is added as a member of #General channel After that Katya Kostina writes to @Andrew “Hello Andrew! We are glad that you are with us :. Welcome! Please fplow me back on Twitter so that I can fplow back too! Thanks! https://twitter.com/katyakostina” - @Andrew fplows Katya Kostina on Twitter - @KatyaKostina writes “
