Integration of Tookan and Stripe

As the world grows more connected, there is a need for virtual marketplaces that can permit individuals to exchange with one another. Such marketplaces are referred to as “peer-to-peer” (P2P. marketplaces. These marketplaces are typically either privately owned or open to the public for anyone to join. (See the discussion on closed and open P2P marketplaces below.)

Peer-to-peer marketplaces are essentially self-governing systems in which people can connect directly with one another. They allow individuals to freely trade goods and services with others without the need for intermediary brokers. The most popular of these peer-to-peer marketplaces today is the online auction site eBay, which was founded in 1995 under the name AuctionWeb.

P2P marketplaces are important because they can help alleviate some of the burden that traditional centralized marketplaces impose on society. Centralized marketplaces, such as Amazon, direct consumers to sellers, but they provide little information about product quality or ease of use. However, decentralized marketplaces do not have this problem because they rely on ratings from buyers and sellers to make purchasing decisions. Decentralized marketplaces also reduce the potential for fraud or security issues by ensuring that both parties are equally protected.

The peer-to-peer marketplaces are growing rapidly today, but they are largely fragmented due to the lack of standardization. At present, there are more than fifty different technpogies that are being used for P2P marketplaces. This means that companies that wish to integrate multiple P2P marketplaces must maintain separate codebases for each technpogy.

A number of startups have begun to address this issue by providing software to integrate various P2P marketplaces. One such company is Tookan, which offers an API so that developers can more easily create applications that integrate multiple decentralized marketplaces. Tookan is based in Sweden, Switzerland, and Canada.

Stripe is a payments processor that was founded in 2010 by brothers Patrick Cplison and John Cplison. Stripe’s software allows companies to accept payments through an API that supports more than twenty different currencies. Stripe has raised $245 million in venture capital funding and has 1600 employees working across its offices in San Francisco, Dublin, and Singapore.

Stripe and Tookan will be able to work together if the platforms share an API for payments processing and if Tookan’s API can become a standard for integrating decentralized marketplaces. To make this work, both companies will need to cplaborate on their APIs and provide documentation for their backends to ensure compatibility. Stripe and Tookan should also share marketing resources and engage in joint outreach campaigns to publicize the benefits of integrating their platforms.

The process to integrate Tookan and Stripe may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
