Tookan is a framework that helps users with creating and compiling PostgreSQL queries. It does this by providing an easy to use interface that allows for dynamic query creation, compilation and submission.

PostgreSQL is an open source relational database management system. It was created in 1986 by Michael Stonebraker and was designed from the ground up to be powerful and highly extensible.

Integration of Tookan and PostgreSQL

Tookan and PostgreSQL work together in two ways. First, Tookan can submit queries to PostgreSQL for execution. Second, Tookan can dynamically compile queries for PostgreSQL to execute. This is accomplished using Tookan’s sqlrv2 and pg_rv2 objects, respectively. These objects are used to connect to a PostgreSQL server and execute queries against it. The sqlrv2 object can take a file name as input; the query contained in the file will be compiled and executed by PostgreSQL. The pg_rv2 object can also take a file name as input; the query contained in the file will be submitted to the PostgreSQL server for execution.
