Integration of Todoist and TimeCamp

Todoist is a task list and to-do application. It helps you manage your tasks for today, tomorrow and the next 14 days (1 month. It has an easy-to-use interface and its main features include. creating tasks, subtasks, projects and labels, due dates and reminders, email notifications upon task completion and comments.

TimeCamp is an online time tracking and time management top that is used for tracking productivity and creating reports.

Integration of Todoist and TimeCamp:

Todoist integration with TimeCamp, as well as other applications such as Google Drive, Slack, Zapier, Dropbox, Evernote and Gmail, gives users benefits such as:

Easy Time Tracking

Task Cloning

TimeCamp users are able to clone tasks from Todoist to TimeCamp, which means that TimeCamp will create a task in the same project with the same name and comments. Cloning tasks can be done either manually or automatically. Automatic cloning works when a task in Todoist is assigned a simple label called @TimeCamp. Manual cloning works when users manually add this label to any task in their Todoist list.

TimeCamp users are able to clone tasks from Todoist to TimeCamp, which means that TimeCamp will create a task in the same project with the same name and comments. Importing tasks into Todoist can be done by linking your Todoist account to TimeCamp or by exporting tasks from TimeCamp. You can export tasks by clicking the "export" button which is located at the bottom of the right sidebar. Clicking on this button opens up a popup window where you can choose how you want to export your data (CSV file, Tasks List Markdown/HTML or Plain Text. You can also manually export your tasks by clicking on the "Export" button in the top right corner of the page. Clicking on this button opens up a popup where you can choose which projects to export your data for. To import tasks into your Todoist account, open up your Todoist project list (where you normally add tasks. and click on "Connected apps". Here you can see all of your connected applications (Google Drive, Slack, etc.. Below them there is an option for connecting to your TimeCamp account. Click on it to open up a popup window where you can sign in with your TimeCamp credentials and you will then be asked if you would like to import all projects or imported ones only (if you choose "all projects" then all projects in TimeCamp will be copied into Todoist; if you choose "imported projects" then only imported projects will be copied into Todoist. If you do not want to import all of your projects from TimeCamp then click on "Import Projects" on the left side under "Connected Apps". In this screen there will be a list of all projects that have been connected to Todoist. You need to click on "Import" next to each project that you want to import. Each project will have a checkbox next to it so that you can check off which ones you want to import. Once you have checked off which projects you want to import click on "Import selected" on the bottom of the screen. This will finish importing all of your selected projects from TimeCamp into Todoist. Note. If you have already created some tasks in Todoist then they will be overwritten with the imported tasks from TimeCamp. In order to avoid this from happening then make sure that you add a note in front of each task that you add in Todoist that consists of only one character, e.g. "x". For example. "xGo grocery shopping". This way when importing tasks from TimeCamp they will not overwrite any tasks that already exist in your Todoist account. You can edit these imported tasks by going into the project where they were imported and clicking on them in order to edit them just like any other task in Todoist. Exporting tasks from Todoist is very easy since it is done through the same popup window where users import their tasks. First, open up an individual task or project in Todoist and click on "Share". Then select "Timecamp" as the option for sharing it with another application (see image below. Next, click on "Export Now" in order to generate an XML file containing all of the details related to this task or project (see image below. After this step has completed then copy the XML export into Notepad or any other text editor like WordPad, TextEdit or AbiWord (the formatting may look odd when copying it directly into Notepad. Now paste it into an email and send it to yourself (or anyone else!. via email (see image below. Finally open up the email containing the XML file and click on it (not forwarding it like normal emails but clicking directly on it. in order to download it onto your computer's hard drive after which you should rename it with a .zip extension so that it's easier for other applications such as OpenOffice Calc, LibreOffice Calc etc., to open it without requiring any special software. The final step invpves opening up this .zip file via OpenOffice Calc, LibreOffice Calc etc., whereupon you should choose File > Import > Import Spreadsheet Data or Object >
