Todoist is a task management application that allows users to organize their tasks and reminders in a variety of ways. Todoist has three levels of plans. Free, Premium, and Business. The free plan allows users to create up to 25 projects and 5 sub-projects. Users can create unlimited tasks and reminders and attach files to them. Todoist also offers integration with other applications such as Google Drive, Outlook, Gmail, Slack, Twitter, Facebook Messenger, and more. The premium plan allows users to cplaborate with others on the same project. A premium subscription also provides users with advanced filters, location-based reminders, custom labels, an enhanced calendar view, and the ability to set default values for projects. The business plan offers robust security features as well as customization for enterprise clients.
OneDrive is a cloud storage service provided by Microsoft. It is available free with every Microsoft account. Users can store files in the cloud via OneDrive and access them from anywhere. OneDrive also allows users to share files and fpders with others. The service includes 15 GB of storage for free and additional storage can be purchased for an annual cost. OneDrive also integrates with several applications including Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Windows 10, MacOS, Office 365, SharePoint Online, and Skype for Business.
Todoist integrates with OneDrive using the “Open Todoist” action in OneDrive. Once this action is enabled, any file saved directly to OneDrive will automatically open in Todoist. This action can be found under the Task Commands section of the OneDrive settings. Users can also create a task or reminder within Todoist by clicking the “Open in OneDrive” option in the file menu. This action will allow the user to save a selected file directly to OneDrive instead of opening it in Todoist.
The integration between Todoist and OneDrive provides several benefits to both companies’ customers:
For Todoist users, the integration allows tasks to be created directly within OneDrive when users need to attach documents to them. This reduces the time it takes to switch between applications because the document can be attached directly within OneDrive. Users who use both applications on a regular basis will benefit from the integration because they will have less steps to complete their work. This is especially beneficial for users who are used to outside-of-the-box thinking or people who are unfamiliar with either application.
For OneDrive users, the integration makes saving files easier because they no longer have to use another application to attach files to their tasks or reminders. This is especially beneficial for new users who do not know how to open documents in another application. For existing users who are familiar with both applications, they will continue using Todoist to organize their tasks because they find it easier than using OneDrive alone. Existing Todoist users will also benefit from the integration because they can save files directly into their Todoist projects without having to create a task or reminder in Todoist first. Many users who used both applications together before the integration did so because it was easier than going through multiple layers of menus within each application separately. The integration has reduced inconvenience for these users because they can now create tasks directly from OneDrive if they need to attach a file quickly.
Overall, the cplaboration between Todoist and OneDrive has been beneficial for both companies’ customers. I believe that this cplaboration will continue as both companies grow their market share in the cloud storage industry. I feel that Microsoft will consider integrating more applications into OneDrive since it has already done so with Todoist. In addition, I feel that Todoist will partner with other productivity applications in the future as well because it already integrates with Slack and Facebook Messenger.
