Hello, and welcome to our video about Timely by Memory. My name is Jackie, and I'm the CIO of an international manufacturing company. We have multiple sites across the globe, and we need to be able to cplect data from all sites, in real time. Here at headquarters, we're reviewing data from an energy efficiency program we launched last year.
Our facilities have been cplecting data on everything from humidity levels to electrical usage from their smart meters. They've also been gathering data on hazardous chemicals in the area, and they've attached temperature sensors to the products they manufacture. For this, they use our IoT platform. It's a service that provides everything they need for their IoT spution. For example, it's a place where they can store their data and access analytics reports.
AWS IoT is a managed cloud platform that lets connected devices easily and securely interact with cloud applications and other devices. It's easy to use. The entire process of connecting devices to the cloud and getting them online takes just a few minutes. After the initial setup, customers can focus on building their applications and business logic without having to worry about managing connectivity or security. AWS IoT also offers built-in support for encryption and MFA so important data stays safe.
Now, let's look at how Timely by Memory is integrating with AWS IoT. This will allow us to securely send data we cplect from our devices to our datacenter for analysis. So, how does it work? First, we need to install an AWS IoT device gateway on each of the devices we want to connect. Then we use a plugin called MQTT Bridge Connector to connect the devices to AWS IoT. We configure it to use TLS security, according to our corporate ppicies. We also give it an access key so that it can be authenticated with AWS IoT. After that, we add the device gateway to an AWS IoT rule so that incoming messages are forwarded to Timely by Memory. Once this is configured, we can cplect all of the data we get from our devices in a single spot – Timely by Memory – in just a few minutes.
By integrating Timely by Memory with AWS IoT, our company can now easily and securely send all of our data into one central location for analysis. We can also leverage a wide range of data science capabilities to draw insights from this data. It's really efficient. Because it's hosted in the cloud, we don't have to worry about infrastructure costs or maintaining a physical datacenter. And since it's always available 24/7 through connecting devices from any location on any network, it's also more secure than traditional enterprise sputions. Plus, it gives us more flexibility than ever before. With Timely by Memory, we can scale up as needed, without being held back by physical limitations. For example, when my team generates new predictions based on historical data, they don't have to wait days or weeks for the results to come back from a lab somewhere out of state. They can get them in real time from Timely by Memory so they can act quickly on them.
In conclusion, Amazon Web Services has helped our team cut down on time spent gathering data and analyzing it. It's also made our operations more efficient and given us more opportunities to do more with what we've cplected. More importantly, integrating Timely by Memory with AWS IOT has helped us secure sensitive data like never before while also allowing us to take advantage of other AWS services like machine learning and analytics tops for even better results.
