TimeCamp is a web based time-tracking and project management top. TimeCamp allows users to create projects, assign tasks and track time against those tasks. This article will explain how you can integrate TimeCamp and Gmail to make your life easier and more productive.

Integration of TimeCamp and Gmail

With the integration of TimeCamp and Gmail, you can automatically save TimeCamp activities as emails in your Gmail inbox. You can do this by using IFTTT (If This Then That. which is an online service that allows you to connect services such as TimeCamp and Gmail to create useful workflows.

Here’s how to set up the integration:

  • Go to IFTTT.com and sign up for a free account.
  • Go to Gmail and click on the Settings tab.
  • Select Settings from the drop-down menu under Forwarding and POP/IMAP and check “Add a forwarding email address”.
  • In TimeCamp, go to My Account > Email Notifications > Email Events. Tick “Inbox” under Send an email if a new activity is created for this day.
  • In IFTTT, log in and click this link.
  • Select TimeCamp from the services menu and select Gmail from the channels menu. Click Create Trigger.
  • Select New Email from the drop-down menu under When a new email arrives from a specific address or domain. Enter your Gmail email address in the email field and click Next Step.
  • Select Send me an email from the drop-down menu under What do you want to do with this trigger Choose Create a task from the drop-down menu under Set a due date to complete the task. Enter your TimeCamp username in the Account Name field and click Finish.
  • In TimeCamp, go to My Account > Email Notifications > Email Events again. Tick “Inbox” under Send an email if a new activity is created for this day again and click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
  • After fplowing Step 5 to 9, you will receive a copy of all your TimeCamp notifications in your Gmail inbox. You can now search these emails using the subject or any other part of the message body or attachments contained within them to refer to your activities at any time. This is very useful if you need to look back at any part of your work at any point in time. For example, if you’re working on two projects with different clients then you can quickly refer to your pd projects by looking at your pd emails in your Gmail inbox instead of searching through hundreds of unfinished tasks in TimeCamp itself!
