Integrate Textline with PagerDuty

Integration of Textline and PagerDuty

PagerDuty is a popular on-call management spution that helps IT teams monitor issues across their infrastructure and respve incidents faster. The integration of Textline and PagerDuty is so seamless that it saves time and resources of the IT team.

The integration of Textline and PagerDuty can be achieved using a few steps:

Step 1. Log in to the PagerDuty account from here- https://www.pagerduty.com/.

Step 2. Go to Settings > Integrations > Add New Integration.

Step 3. In the Add New Integration field, enter your Textline account name and API key. Click on ‘Save Integration’ button.

Step 4. Now, go to Settings > Integrations > Alert Triggering > Create a new Alert Triggering Rule.

Step 5. In the Alert Triggers page, click on ‘New Alert Triggering Rule’ button.

Step 6. In the New Alert Triggering Rule window, select ‘Text Message’ as the Alert Type. In the ‘Service URL’ field, enter your Textline service URL without http or https or any other prefix or suffix. In the ‘Service Key’ field, enter your Textline API key. In the ‘Webhook URL’ field, enter your Webhook URL provided by Textline. In the ‘Message Template’ field, enter your message template. In the ‘Alert Name’ field, enter your preferred alert name. Then click on ‘Save Alert Rule’ button.

Now that we have set up an alert triggering rule in PagerDuty, we need to verify if the integration is working properly. To verify this, we will send a sample message through Textline and verify whether it is properly transferred to PagerDuty or not. Here are the steps:

Step 1. Log in to your Textline account from herehttps://www.textline.com/.

Step 2. Go to Settings > Messaging & Notifications > Custom Messages > Send a Message.

Step 3. In the Message field, enter your message body text and click on ‘Send Sample’ button to send a test message through Textline platform. After clicking on the ‘Send Sample’ button, you will receive a confirmation message that your message has been sent successfully and you will also see a confirmation message in your dashboard as shown in Figure 1:
