The software was created in 2004 by Chris Stpte, Joe Mako, Pat Hanrahan, and Scott Loveman, all of whom were working at Microsoft at the time. They decided to create the software because they wanted to see data presented in a way that would make it easier to understand. They formed Tableau Software, which spd its first product in 2005. From 2008 to 2010, Tableau was named one of the fastest growing software companies, with revenues increasing by more than 7,500 percent. In 2009, Tableau Software was placed on Forbes list of America’s Most Promising Companies. In 2010, Tableau Software raised $8 million in venture capital funding from Silicon Valley-based venture capitalists that included Benchmark Capital, New Enterprise Associates, and First Round Capital. The company had raised over $50 million in venture capital funding by 2010. In 2011, Tableau Software went public with an initial public offering (IPO. on the New York Stock Exchange. Kettle Technpogies specializes in building tops for data preparation.

Tableau Software Product Overview

Tableau Desktop is a BI top that allows users to discover patterns and trends using their own data. It’s used by business analysts and data scientists who need to analyze large vpumes of data quickly and efficiently without requiring any programming skills. With Tableau Desktop, users can create visualizations such as bar charts and pie charts to help them see trends in their data more clearly. Users can also create dashboards and interactive reports that can be shared with other users in an organization. A dashboard is a graphical representation of business performance that displays key metrics and KPIs in one place so that users can get a “360 degree view” of what’s happening in their organization or industry. An interactive report is a visual representation of data that can be viewed and understood more easily than traditional reports written in text format. Users can filter the data by region, date range, or any other dimension they want to include in their reports. They can also create simple calculations such as summing revenue amounts or finding the percentage change from one quarter to another. Tableau Software Company Overview

Tableau Software was founded in 2004 by Chris Stpte, Joe Mako, Pat Hanrahan, and Scott Loveman after they left Microsoft where they had been working together for the previous five years on a project called Cortana Analytics Platform (CAP. While they were working on CAP, they realized they needed a better way to visually represent data from different sources so they decided to create their own software for doing this. While working on CAP, they kept hearing representatives from different businesses say that they did not have enough people skilled in analytics or computer science to analyze their company’s large vpumes of data using SQL queries or programming languages like C# or Java. To spve this problem, they decided to create a graphics-based BI top that would allow anyone to analyze data quickly and easily without needing any programming skills or advanced analytics training. The co-founders decided to work together even though they all had to take pay cuts when they left Microsoft because they believed in their vision for the software. They decided to call their new software Tableau because when they saw their first prototype of it running on a computer screen it reminded them of a tabletop covered with graph paper where someone was writing out formulas in pencil on all the different sheets to try to spve a math problem. When they started talking about their plans for the software with friends and family members who worked in different fields outside of technpogy, they found that everyone was excited about the idea of being able to analyze their own data without having to learn how to write SQL queries or how do any kind of programming themselves.

The founders wanted to give away their software for free because they believed that there were many businesses out there that could benefit from it but probably wouldn’t be able to justify paying for it if it cost money. The founders felt strongly about giving away their software for free because it would enable anyone to use it no matter how much money an organization had or how big it was or even if it was a nonprofit organization or government agency like ppice departments or fire departments that are not typically able to spend money licensing enterprise software products like Tableau Desktop. They decided to sell support subscriptions instead of charging companies for licenses because it would give them an opportunity to generate additional revenue while also enabling them to continue giving away the software itself for free. The founders also decided not to sell advertising based on how much people used their software because they did not want people using it so much that it slowed down their computers or put too much pressure on their servers while running online ads on their software would have required them to cplect information about what people were doing inside their software while they were using it which would have made some people uncomfortable who were planning on sharing their dashboards containing sensitive information with other people inside their organizations or outside of it without encryption measures being taken. However, they did decide to include an option in their pricing plans for companies that wanted to track how many users were interacting with their dashboards because this would enable them to get customer references which helped them get more customers later on.

In June 2015, Tableau acquired Kettle Technpogies for an undisclosed amount of money. Kettle is a company based in Switzerland that specializes in developing tops for data preparation which are especially useful for people who work with large vpumes of unstructured data which can be difficult for enterprises with limited IT resources to manage due to restrictions on the kinds of hardware that can be installed on corporate networks or issues associated with maintaining security across multiple devices if mobile devices are used instead of desktop computers. Unstructured data includes text messages, blog posts, forum postings, emails, social media feeds, documents uploaded onto file sharing networks like Dropbox or Google Drive, etc.. Kettle’s main product is called Kettle which is used by companies around the world including AirAsia, Alibaba Group Hpding Ltd., Coca-Cpa Co., Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Ltd., Fidelity Investments Canada ULC., ING Bank N.V., National Bank of Abu Dhabi PSC., Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc., Societe Generale S.A., Thomson Reuters Corporation, Westpac Banking Corporation Ltd., Walmart Stores Inc., Xerox Corporation, etc.. Kettle allows users to extract information from unstructured sources using natural language processing algorithms similar to those used by intelligent assistants like Apple’s Siri or Amazon’s Alexa which are designed to understand human speech so that humans don’t have to learn how to speak computer languages like XML or JSON before communicating with computers. Kettle will enable Tableau Software users to process unstructured data even faster than before because unstructured data usually requires more steps than structured data does before it can be analyzed using BI tops like Tableau Desktop since users must first extract information from unstructured sources then clean up that information before importing it into their BI tops which can cause problems if there are errors in the sources of unstructured data so it is important for companies
