Tableau is a sophisticated, easy-to-use data visualization software that has been around since the year 2005. It was developed by two computer science graduates, Christian Chabot and Pat Hanrahan. Tableau helps companies extract every bit of information from their data, which in turn enables them to make better decisions. The platform is popularly known for its ability to quickly create beautiful dashboards and visualizations. The user-friendly interface allows one to drag and drop the various data fields into the worksheet and create mind boggling visualizations in a matter of minutes. It’s quick and easy to learn, intuitive and simple to use, which makes it ideal for business users.
SendFox is a cloud based digital marketing platform that provides service providers with analytics, automated email marketing and campaign management services. The company was started in 2013 by Jack Liu and Paul Piao, who were themselves marketers at Google and Microsoft; they are now joined by four other co-founders. SendFox is built around the concept of Smart Data, which means it gathers all relevant information about your customers and uses it to send out emails that are more likely to be read and acted upon. The platform can be used to send blasts to a large number of contacts or segments. It also has advanced features such as campaign automation, Email Analytics, Reporting and more. There is an extensive set of features available on the platform which helps companies drive sales faster and easier than ever before.
Tableau integrates with SendFox automatically so you can get deeper insights from your campaigns into the customer lifecycle. You can easily see who opens your emails and clicks through to your site, what pages they visit and when they buy your products/services. You can even see if a particular segment of customers have visited your website consistently over the last few weeks or months. This information can help you create targeted content for specific groups of customers and improve conversion rates.
The integration of these two platforms is automatic. However, there are some things that you need to do in order to get the best out of this integration. Fplow these steps:
Create a SendFox account. Register for a free trial of Tableau Online (or download the Desktop version for free. Once you have created an account, log in to Tableau Online or launch the Desktop version (if you downloaded the free trial. From the ‘Online’ menu at the top navigate to ‘Connected Apps’ and then click on ‘Add New App’. If you are setting this up from the desktop version, you will need to go to ‘Tops > Connected Apps’. At this point you will need to enter the ‘OAuth Client ID’ and ‘Client Secret Key’ which are provided by SendFox while registering for a trial account. These details are also available in the Credentials page under the Settings tab within any active SendFox account. Click on ‘Continue’ once you have entered these details. Now you will be asked to grant access to your SendFox account, where you will be shown a list of actions that Tableau can perform against your account. This page will also show you whether or not the permissions you grant will be sufficient for Tableau to work properly with your account. Make sure you check this carefully and add the appropriate permissions for Tableau to access your data. Once you have added these permissions, click on ‘Allow Access’ button at the bottom of the page. You will now see Sendfox listed under ‘Connected Apps’ list in Tableau Online or under ‘Connected Sources’ list in Tableau Desktop. If you wish to include any other SendFox accounts, click on ‘Add Another App’ at the bottom of this page; otherwise, click on ‘Close’ button to close this window away. On the next screen you will be prompted to enter your account credentials in order to connect with SendFox. Enter your username and password, check the box confirming that you agree with giving Tableau permission to access your data and click ‘OK’ button at the bottom of this page. On the fplowing screen click on ‘OK’ button again as Tableau will now prompt you to save this connection so that it can be used later, even after signing out from your current session. Now you are ready to visualize SendFox data within Tableau. To do so simply launch a new worksheet or perform a search within an existing worksheet (via right click > Search. In either case, select SendFox from the drop-down list under ‘Data Source’ field (in Search. or under ‘Connected Sources’ field (if you are creating a new worksheet. You should now see all SendFox data sources which you can use for creating visualizations! In order to create a new dashboard from this data source, simply drag it onto the canvas (found at the bottom side of your screen. and continue adding other visualizations via drag-and-drop as needed.
The main benefit of integrating SendFox with Tableau is that both platforms provide complementary services which complement each other beautifully. When used together they become a powerful duo that can help businesses make better decisions by gathering data more efficiently than ever before. Let us take a look at how these two platforms complement each other:
SendFox gives organizations an insight into their customer lifecycle – how they interact with emails, how they convert, how they share content – in order to understand what drives customer behavior most effectively. It also helps them identify their strongest leads and customers as well as their best performing channels while using a variety of metrics such as ROI, conversion rate, customer lifetime value etc. It also helps channel managers prioritize their resources based on data rather than gut-feel or intuition thereby helping them get more ROI from their marketing spend. It also helps them automate their campaigns for better efficiency and effectiveness saving time and money on manual tasks such as sending out regular newsletters or engaging customers via social media channels such as Twitter or Facebook for instance. All this can be done by tracking customer behavior based on data cplected from SendFox campaigns.
Tableau helps organizations visualize their data in an interactive manner so that they can make informed decisions based on facts rather than hunches or assumptions. Using Tableau it is possible to create beautiful charts, graphs etc that make it easier for decision makers to understand complex business scenarios much better than they would if they had just been presented with raw data tables without any context behind them. This makes it easier for organizations to stay ahead of competition by making more informed decisions based on data rather than gut-feel or intuition thereby ensuring that their marketing strategies can be optimized for maximum ROI moving forward. It also helps them reach new customers by creating highly customized experiences for specific segments of their target audience based on the information they have gleaned from the analysis performed using Tableau.
Overall, these two platforms complement each other very well and integrate seamlessly with each other via OAuth authentication which means that they don’t need any additional integration effort beyond simple configuration steps outlined above!
