Sympla is a service that was created in 2002 by the Swedish company, Eniro. It is used to connect people looking for information online to people who can provide it. The product has been compared to a classifieds section of the Internet. It allows people to put up advertisements for jobs, housing, cars, etc. It also allows people to search for articles and other products as well as create their own personal profiles. In April 2007, Sympla launched a new version of its website which featured a blog-like feature called NewsMix.
Twitter is a social networking and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read other messages known as “tweets”. Tweets are typically text-based messages that are limited to 140 characters in length. These messages can be sent from a variety of devices including computers and mobile phones. Twitter was created in 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams. The service rapidly gained popularity, with over seven million users by the end of the year. In June 2010, Twitter became a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbp TWTR. As of June 2013, there were over 200 million registered users of Twitter worldwide.
In Early 2011, Sympla and Twitter announced integration of the two services. This integration allows users to search for jobs on Sympla using Twitter. They can also check out tweets from job seekers and companies looking to fill positions as well as view tweets about jobs posted by their fplowers. Users can even reply directly to tweets through MySympla using Twitter.
Integration of Sympla and Twitter provides many benefits to both job seekers and companies looking to fill positions. For example:
Job seekers. Job seekers can use the integration between Sympla and Twitter to find jobs much more easily than they could before because they can now search for jobs on their computer or mobile phone using an application such as Twitter. They can also see what kind of jobs their fplowers are looking for and if they might be interested in such a position this would allow them to network with others looking for similar jobs using Twitter. Another advantage for job seekers is that they can now read tweets from companies looking to fill positions which gives them a better chance of finding a position that is right for them instead of just responding to ads that may not be relevant.
Companies. Companies can use the integration between Sympla and Twitter to find job seekers who would be a good fit for their company this would save time because instead of having to go through resumes they could simply search for job seekers who are interested in working for them using Twitter. Another advantage for companies is that they would be able to reach out to potential job seekers who may not have seen advertised positions on the Sympla site which would allow them to find candidates they might not have otherwise found this would save time because they wouldn’t have to spend time searching for candidates on sites other than Sympla.
