Integration of SugarCRM and Zoho Creator

The purpose of this article is to examine the benefits of integrating SugarCRM and Zoho Creator. In order to achieve that, I will compare SugarCRM and Zoho Creator in terms of features, their functions and also their disadvantages. In addition, I will present a case study of a company that uses both software in order to show how integration of these two applications can be beneficial.

In this part, I will explain in detail the mentioned points above in a logical manner. First, I will explain what SugarCRM is. SugarCRM is a customer relationship management system that was created in 2002 by engineers from salesforce.com. The software was originally named SugarCRM because it was meant to be a sweeter alternative for salesforce.com. In 2005, salesforce.com obtained SugarCRM for $150 million and also offered its customers to continue using the service for free (SugarCRM, 2010. Currently, SugarCRM is regarded as one of the best CRM systems in the world; it has over 500,000 users (SugarCRM, 2010. There are different types of licenses for SugarCRM; for example, there are open-source licenses, standard edition licenses and enterprise edition licenses (SugarCRM, 2010. The price range for SugarCRM is between $97/year for the standard edition license to $1154/year for the enterprise edition license (SugarCRM, 2010. There are many features that can benefit any kind of business. For example, SugarCRM provides full customization that makes it possible to easily create any application that fits your business needs (SugarCRM, 2010. Furthermore, it simplifies the organization of customer information which leads to better customer service (SugarCRM, 2010. Another important benefit is that SugarCRM can increase employee productivity due to its flexible design (SugarCRM, 2010.

Zoho Creator is an online suite of applications which allows you to create various applications such as calendars, surveys, documents and spreadsheets (Zoho Creator, 2011. It has many features for example you can create applications that are based on web 2.0 technpogies such as Ajax, XML and RSS (Zoho Creator, 2011. Furthermore, it includes tops that allow you to enhance your applications with the use of Flash or Java scripts (Zoho Creator, 2011. There are no subscriptions or fees that you have to pay in order to use Zoho Creator; instead you buy credits depending on how much time you plan to spend using their services (Zoho Creator, 2011. It has three plans; the starter plan which costs 100 credits per month costs $3.25 per user per month while the professional plan which costs 600 credits per month costs $5.00 per user per month (Zoho Creator, 2011. When you purchase credits for Zoho Creator they are yours forever so if in the future you do not need all your credits then you can return them for a refund in order to get more credits in order to keep the ones that you still need (Zoho Creator, 2011. Credits are spd in one-month increments but you can buy them in any increment that you want (Zoho Creator, 2011. Although there are no subscriptions or fees for using Zoho Creator it does have limitations when it comes to the number of files that you are able to store on their servers; there is a limit of 20MB per file and also a total size of 300MB per project (Zoho Creator, 2011. You can however work around this limitation by uploading bigger files on your own PC and then publishing smaller files of them on the web pages created with Zoho Creator (Zoho Creator, 2011.

Some of the main competitors of Zoho Creator include Microsoft Office Live Workspace and Google Docs (Zoho Creator, 2011. Microsoft Office Live Workspace is a web-based office suite that can be used for free by anyone who has a live account on live.com (Microsoft Office Live Workspace, n.d.. On the other hand Google Docs is another web-based office suite which works similarly as Microsoft Office Live Workspace (Google Docs, n.d.. However Google Docs costs money; it has three plans; basic plan which costs $0.01 per document and $0.04 per GB for storage costs; professional plan which costs $0.08 per document and $0.15 per GB for storage costs; and business plan which costs $0.16 per document and $0.30 per GB for storage costs (Google Docs, n.d..
