Integration of SugarCRM and SMS Alert

SugarCRM is a customer relationship management software package developed by SugarCRM Inc. It has been used in commercial, government and non-profit organizations.

SMS Alert is a web-based SMS text messaging service provided by Qwikwire Inc., an early stage startup founded in 2004 that is based in the Philippines.

Integration of SugarCRM and SMS Alert

Integration of SugarCRM and SMS Alert allows users to send alerts to different groups using the SMS Alert application. The SMS service provider can be any of the fplowing. Smart, Globe, Sun Cellular, Talk N’ Text, and Touch Mobile. In order for the integration to work, a user needs to create a group in SugarCRM and then invite other users to join that group. The group can be created from the “Groups” page under the “Communication” menu option. Then, a user can fplow these steps:

  • From the list of groups select “Edit Group” for the group where you want to add members or “New Group” to create a new group. 2. Type the name of the group you want to create/edit in the “Group Name” field. 3. Click on “Add Members” to invite members to your group. 4. To add more members, click on “Use Email Address” to type the email address of each member you want to invite. 5. You may also invite members by entering their phone numbers into the “Phone Number” field and clicking “Add Members”. 6. Click Save after you have entered all the members of your group. 7. Next, go to the Communication tab under the “Group Settings” menu option on the left-hand side of your screen. 8. Select SMS Alert as your notification method by changing its value from “Email Only” to “SMS Alert Only” or “SMS Alerts”, depending on how your users prefer to receive notifications about your group activities. 9. Click Save when done.

Now, all members of your group will be notified through an SMS if any important events happen in your SugarCRM instance such as new members are added or joins, if someone leaves the group or if a member is inactive for a specific amount of time, etc. All notifications will have the same format:
