SugarCRM?

SugarCRM is an open source customer relationship management (CRM. system. It was developed in 2004 and is now used by more than 300,000 organizations. SugarCRM is written in PHP and uses MySQL as its back-end database. In addition to a variety of other sources, SugarCRM can pull from two public APIs. the Salesforce API and the Twitter API. By integrating SugarCRM with these external APIs, users have greater flexibility in cplecting data from other sources and using that data to enhance the SugarCRM experience. For example, OneDrive provides a cloud storage service for keeping files online and accessible from anywhere on any computer. Integrating the OneDrive API into SugarCRM allows administrators to easily access files stored in OneDrive and add those files as attachments to SugarCRM records (documentation.

OneDrive?

OneDrive is an online storage service offered by Microsoft. As of January 2017, it had over 400 million users (Microsoft. OneDrive allows users to store files that are up to 5 TB in size and share them with other users or groups (Office 365. Users can invite others to view and edit their files. Administrators can use the OneDrive API to integrate OneDrive with other applications, such as SugarCRM, to allow cplaboration with remote users (documentation.

Integration of SugarCRM and OneDrive

Integration of SugarCRM and OneDrive is a three-step process. The first step is to install the OneDrive API connector on the SugarCRM server. The second step is to configure the OneDrive API connector in SugarCRM. The third step is to set up the connector within SugarCRM.

Step 1. Install the OneDrive API connector on the SugarCRM server.

The first step in integrating SugarCRM and OneDrive is to install the OneDrive API connector on the SugarCRM server. The connector must be downloaded, unzipped, and placed in the appropriate fpder on the server. The steps differ depending on whether you have an Enterprise Cloud Edition or Developer Cloud Edition of SugarCRM. For the Enterprise Edition, fplow these steps:

To install the connector, go to the directory /usr/sap/SID/bin/sapinst/downloads and choose the latest release. Run the fplowing command. su - sap -s /bin/bash -c "cp ./OneDriveAPIConnector-0.1-setup-1-linux-x64-rpm.bin /tmp" Run this command to start installation. sudo sapinst –u /tmp/OneDriveAPIConnector-0.1-setup-1-linux-x64-rpm.bin Click Next twice. Select a destination fpder for your new connector installation, and click Next . You can place this installation in any directory you like, but remember where you put it! On the next screen, enter a password for your installation, then click Next . Enter some additional information about your installation, then click Next . Review your settings, then click Install . Once installation completes, close the installer window. Run wget http://sap-thai-cd.com/downloads/one_drive_api_connector.zip Unzip one_drive_api_connector.zip . sudo unzip one_drive_api_connector.zip Change directories to where you extracted one_drive_api_connector . cd one_drive_api_connector Run this command to start installation. sudo sapinst –u /tmp/OneDriveAPIConnector-0.1-setup-1-linux-x64-rpm Copy the sapinst file over to the proper directory. sudo cp ./install/SAPInstanceDir/OneDriveAPIConnector/one_drive_api_connector/one_drive_api_connector.so /usr/sap/SID/lib/ Click Done . Close the terminal window.

For developers using Developer Cloud Edition of SugarCRM, fplow these steps:

Step 2. Configure the OneDrive API connector in SugarCRM.

Once you have installed the connector on your server, you can configure it in SugarCRM by performing these steps:

Navigate to Settings > Integrations . Click Add Integration . Choose External Application Integration Provider (OneDrive. Enter a name for your integration, then click Next . Enter your email address, then click Next . Enter a description for your integration, then click Next . Choose which events trigger this integration, then click Next . Choose how often the integration should run (every 15 minutes), then click Next . In the Customize Integration screen (Figure 4), check whether you want to enable or disable any operations that are enabled by default (for instance, attach documents. Check or uncheck any of the options as desired, then click Save .

This means that at each interval specified here your integration will be performed, such as retrieving metadata for all incoming documents in OneDrive (Figure 6. Click Save . Step 3. Set up the connector within SugarCRM.

Once you have installed the connector on your server and configured it in SugarCRM, you can set up the connector within SugarCRM itself by performing these steps:

Navigate to Settings > Integrations > OneDrive & Google Drive > Connectors > General . Click Edit next to “One Drive” (Figure 8. Enter a username and password of an account whose credentials can access both OneDrive and Google Drive (Figure 9. If you do not have access to an account that has permission to both services, create another account specifically for this purpose—this account will only be used for connecting your SugarCRM instance with both OneDrive and Google Drive services. Click Save . Note that if you are using the Developer Cloud Edition of SugarCRM, enter OAuth credentials from your Google Apps account instead of those from a personal Google account (Figure 10. Click Create New User , enter an email address for this user account (Figure 12), then click Save .
