Strava Inc. is a social network for athletes founded in 2009. It is a mobile app and a website which allows the tracking of athletic activities with the use of Global Positioning System (GPS), heart rate monitor or connected sensors. The app tracks the activities of the users and allows them to share them on the website. It has been designed to “enable people to connect, compete, and motivate each other to achieve their goals through fitness”. The strava can be used for running, cycling, swimming and many more. The app also allows users to compete against each other on the social network and has a feature called strava leaderboard which allows users to view the performance of their competitors.
Cisco® Webex Teams is an online cplaboration top owned by Cisco Systems. It is a cloud based software which allows the user to create real-time, virtual teams. Unlike other cplaboration tops like Slack, Cisco® Webex Teams is highly focused on team meetings and does not allow users to send text messages outside of meeting rooms. In Cisco® Webex Teams, each cplaborative meeting room is open by default which allows users to join without receiving an invitation. It can hpd up to 250 participants at a time and can be recorded and played back from any device. These meetings can be recorded by a presenter or by everyone. The internal chat feature allows all the members of a team to communicate in real time without hpding meetings. It also allows all the members of a team to share files and screen shares within the same meeting room. Users can also make calls directly from the application. Cisco® Webex Teams could be used for work related projects like sales or product development or even for personal projects like planning out a dinner party or a vacation. As it’s cloud based, it can be accessed from anywhere as long as there is an internet connection. It can be accessed on sites like Apple TV, iOS phones, iPads etc.(Cisco, 2018)
Integration with strava would allow Cisco® Webex Teams users to have access to their stats stored on strava so they could use them during a sales call or a product development meeting. This integration would especially come handy when there are people who are not very tech savvy and do not own smartphones or who do not have enough time to use strava regularly. Integration with strava will also allow users of Cisco® Webex Teams to easily see their performance on strava leaderboard while conducting a meeting using Cisco® Webex Teams.
Integration of strava with Cisco® Webex Teams will allow users to keep track of their progress in their daily workouts using strava app and so they could share it with their team members during meetings. This will allow them to compete against each other and motivate each other without having to schedule separate meetings for each competitive activity. This integration will also allow users of Cisco® Webex Teams to access their stats stored on strava anytime, anywhere as long as they have an internet connection. This would save time for them as they would not need to go back to their devices just to check their stats during a meeting. This integration would benefit both strava and Cisco® Webex Teams users because it will allow them to be more productive at work as they could easily share their workout stats with their team members using Cisco® Webex Teams and motivate themselves to complete their daily workout goals without leaving the office environment, therefore saving them time and money on transportation costs. It would also benefit them financially as they could save money by choosing not to buy expensive hardware that can track their activities as apps like strava do not require any extra hardware other than a smartphone or another smart device which everyone already has.(Cisco, 2018)
I believe that integration of strava with Cisco® Webex Teams would definitely benefit both users of both systems as it would allow them to have access to their workout data throughout the day and perform better at work. This integration would especially benefit users who do not have much time on their hands as they would not need to go back to their devices just to check their stats during a meeting or for any other reason. Also, this integration would allow users who are not very tech savvy or who do not own smartphones or who do not have enough time to use strava regularly as they would be able to access their stats at any time using Cisco® Webex Teams. Integration of strava with Cisco® Webex Teams will also allow users of both systems to compete against each other and motivate each other without having to schedule separate meetings for each competitive activity. I believe that this integration will benefit both companies in the long run since it will encourage users from both sides to regularly update their stats on strava in order for them to stay competitive in meetings and gain an advantage over their competitors in selling/developing products.(Cisco, 2018)
