Integration of StoryChief and SharePoint

StoryChief makes SharePoint better by letting people connect with their data in new and exciting ways. StoryChief integrates with SharePoint through what we call a “Story Chief Channel”. A channel is a set of connections between a Story Chief account and a SharePoint account or site. A channel contains the information needed to connect the two accounts, such as user names, passwords, site URLs, etc. Channels are created when you go to the Settings page and click on “Add Channel”. There are several types of channels available depending on how you want to connect to SharePoint.

The first type of channel is the “SharePoint User/Group” channel. This channel connects to any SharePoint site where you have permission to edit items (such as a Team Site. This channel uses your existing username and password. The second type of channel is the “Existing Data Channel” which connects to a single list or library on a SharePoint site where you have permissions to edit items. This is the recommended channel if you want to connect to SharePoint but do not want to change your login credentials or make changes directly on the SharePoint site. The third type of channel is the “Web Part Channel” which can be used to add links to StoryChief items from any web part on your SharePoint site. The fourth type of channel is the “SharePoint User/Group Channel Connector” which can be used to connect multiple lists or libraries on different sites within a single site cplection. The fifth type of channel is the “SharePoint Server Connector” which can be used to connect to any Microsoft SQL server instance or database using ODBC or OLEDB/ADO connections. The sixth type of channel is the “SharePoint Server Connector (Advanced)” which can be used to connect to any Microsoft SQL server instance or database using ODBC or OLEDB/ADO connections that contain particular tables or views. The seventh type of channel is the “MySQL Server Connector” which can be used to connect to any MySQL server instance or database using ODBC or OLEDB/ADO connections. The eighth type of channel is the “OneDrive Channel” which can be used to connect to any OneDrive account where you have permission to edit items. The ninth type of channel is the “Azure Storage Channel” which can be used to connect to any Azure storage account where you have permission to edit items. The tenth type of channel is the “iCloud Channel” which can be used to connect to any iCloud account where you have permission to edit items. The eleventh type of channel is the “Google Drive Channel” which can be used to connect to any Google Drive account where you have permission to edit items. The twelfth type of channel is the “Microsoft OneDrive for Business Channel” which can be used to connect to any Office 365 group where you have permission to edit items. The thirteenth type of channel is the “Office 365 Exchange Online Channel” which can be used to connect to an Office 365 Exchange Online account where you have permission to edit items. The fourteenth type of channel is the “On-Premise Database Server Channel” which can be used to connect directly to a SQL Server database using ODBC or OLEDB/ADO connections where you have permission to edit items. The fifteenth type of channel is the “On-Premise Database Server (Advanced. Channel” which can be used to connect directly to a SQL Server database using ODBC or OLEDB/ADO connections where you have permission to edit items that contain particular tables or views. The sixteenth type of channel is the “On-Premise File Server Channel” which can be used to connect directly to a file system location using ODBC or OLEDB/ADO connections where you have permission to edit items. The seventeenth type of channel is the “On-Premise File Server (Advanced. Channel” which can be used to connect directly to a file system location using ODBC or OLEDB/ADO connections where you have permission to edit items that contain particular files or fpders. The eighteenth type of channel is the “On-Premise Oracle Server Channel” which can be used to connect directly to an Oracle server instance using ODBC or OLEDB/ADO connections where you have permission to edit items. The nineteenth type of channel is the “On-Premise Oracle Server (Advanced. Channel” which can be used to connect directly to an Oracle server instance using ODBC or OLEDB/ADO connections where you have permission to edit items that contain particular tables or views. The twenty type of channel is the “On-Premise Salesforce.com Channel” which can be used to connect directly to a Salesforce account where you have permission to edit items. The twenty-first type of channel is the “On-Premise Salesforce.com (Advanced. Channel” which can be used to connect directly to a Salesforce account where you have permission to edit items that contain particular tables or views. The twenty-second type of channel is the “On-Premise SAP HANA Channel” which can be used to connect directly to an SAP HANA server instance using ODBC or OLEDB/ADO connections where you have permission to edit items in SAP HANA server instances.
