StoryChief provides a unique platform that allows users to create and maintain an extensive database of content for each character. Sentry is a program that automatically generates summaries based on user generated content for each character and provides an analysis and flow chart of the events and characters invpved in the story. This article will focus on the integration of these two programs and the benefits of this integration.
StoryChief is a platform that allows users to generate and maintain a database of all the content related to a particular character. The program is easily accessible as it can be accessed through any web browser, including Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari. It is also very easy to use as it has an intuitive interface that allows users to input their data into the program with minimal effort. Once the desired characters have been created, StoryChief allows users to easily input all the information related to a particular character. Users can input information such as character name, location, appearance, quotes, background information, etc., which is stored within the framework of the character. This information can then be used by other users for reference purposes. StoryChief also provides a very convenient feature that allows users to utilize the content generated from other users by copying and pasting their information into their own database. In addition to allowing users to copy and paste data from other users’ databases, the program also allows users to integrate external data from apps such as Evernote, Dropbox, Google Drive, or Microsoft OneDrive by providing a link or a QR code for users to access the external information. Once external information has been imported into the app, it can either be added under a specific category for each character or it can simply be added as a note under the character. StoryChief also provides a convenient way for users to record videos about their characters using video recording apps such as Google Hangouts, Skype, or FaceTime. In order to integrate these videos into the program, users have to create a separate category within their database called “Video” and then enter the link for the video recording app into the category’s description box. Once video recordings are integrated into the program, they can be used for reference purposes by other users who are researching on the character’s background or character development. StoryChief also has an option that allows users to save stories that they have written about their characters directly onto the app. Users can choose either to save their stories by creating individual documents for each of their stories or they can save the entire story as one document with multiple chapters. The stories are saved in .docx format by default but they can also be saved in .pdf format if preferred by the user.
Sentry is an automated summary generator that analyzes text documents by analyzing content generated by individual characters. Sentry first cplects all of its supporting material on Amazon S3 , where it makes them available for analysis on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud ( Amazon EC2 . Sentry then uses Amazon Elastic MapReduce ( Amazon EMR . to analyze all of the documents it has cplected using Amazon Elastic Block Store ( Amazon EBS . instances located in Amazon Virtual Private Cloud ( Amazon VPC . Amazon Elasticache is used to store the results of Amazon EMR analysis without impacting Amazon EC2 instances, while Amazon Simple Storage Service ( Amazon S3 . keeps all of Amazon EBS snapshots that are analyzed during Amazon EMR runs. Amazon Route 53 is used by Sentry to route traffic to the appropriate instance of Amazon EC2 , Amazon EMR , Amazon Elastic Block Store , Amazon ElastiCache , etc., depending on which servers are up at any given time.
