In 2011, Tech Crunch reported that Square and Pendo’s merger was imminent (Brewer, 2011. Many believed this is an excellent opportunity to integrate Square’s mobile payment application with Pendo’s CRM spution. By integrating these two applications, the users of Square will be able to easily access a client database and track sales data. In the long run, this integration will help both companies improve their market share by providing a user-friendly, integrated spution for their customers. Thus, this article will discuss the integration of Square and Pendo and its benefits for both companies.
Square is a mobile payment company that allows users to accept credit card payments on smartphones or tablets without a swipe terminal (Square, 2012. Users can download the Square application from the iTunes store, register online, and be ready to accept payments within minutes. Square charges 2.75% per transaction plus $0.15 per transaction (Square, 2012. The fees are higher than those charged by most other processors, but Square offers a free card reader to its users so they can accept payments at no cost. On the other hand, Pendo is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM. spution that allows users to cplect data about their clients in a centralized platform (Pendo, 2012. The users can also use the application to track sales activities.
While Square is a great payment processing spution for small businesses, it does not provide a complete CRM system. On the other hand, Pendo has limited payment processing features. One way to spve this problem is integrate Square’s payment processing feature with Pendo’s CRM feature and create a complete spution that will benefit both companies. However, since Square and Pendo have different target markets, it is unlikely for them to merge completely. Therefore, it makes sense for them to work together by integrating Square’s payment processing feature with Pendo’s CRM feature. This integration will allow users of Square to have access to a complete CRM system on their mobile device while still retaining all the key features of Square such as speed and ease of use.
As explained above, integrating Square and Pendo will benefit both companies greatly by allowing them to provide a complete yet flexible spution for their users. It will also help each company increase their market share by offering a complete spution that targets different segments of business owners. Therefore, I strongly recommend Square and Pendo to integrate their payment processing and CRM features so they can offer an appealing package to their users.
