Snapchat is a mobile application that allows users to send and receive photos and videos. The creator of this algorithm stated that he spd it to a third party which then marketed it as a way to spy on people. These accusations caused Snapchat to respond on their blog and other social media sites, claiming that these allegations were false. However, this incident did not deter the company from their strategy of attempting to appeal to more mature audiences by allowing users over 18 years pd to make use of the service with no restriction on functionality.

As of May 2016, Snapchat has more than 100 million daily active users and claims 21 billion daily video views. It also maintains partnerships with several companies including Hulu, Huffingtonpost, IGN Entertainment, NBCUniversal, World Wrestling Entertainment, and others. Its partnerships with these companies allow them to advertise on Snapchat in addition to releasing exclusive content on the app through these partnerships. The most recent partnership announced in May 2016 is with Saatchi & Saatchi X (a division of advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi. which will work with Snapchat to design creative content for advertisers in addition to providing creative support for ad campaigns run on Snapchat. Snapchat has also begun working with leading producers and directors, including Shonda Rhimes (creator/producer of Grey’s Anatomy), and James Corden (host of The Late Late Show.
