The integration of these two tops will allow you to send emails from a form created in Gravity Forms with a single click of a button. It is important to note that this integration has been tested with Gravity Forms version 2.1.4, so it may need to be updated if you are using an pder version of Gravity Forms.
Step 1. Install the SMTP by Connect Plugin
First, you will need to install the SMTP by Connect Plugin on your WordPress site. You can do this by navigating to the Plugins menu within the WordPress Dashboard and clicking on the “Add New” button. Then, search for “SMTP by Connect” in the search box and install it. Once it is installed, activate it.
Step 2. Install the Gravity Forms Addon for SMTP by Connect
The next step is to install the Gravity Forms Addon for SMTP by Connect. First, navigate to the Installed Plugins screen within the WordPress Dashboard and click on the “Add New” button. Then, search for “Gravity Forms Addon for SMTP by Connect” in the search box and install it. Once it is installed, activate it.
Step 3. Configure SMTP by Connect Settings
Next, you will need to configure the settings for SMTP by Connect. To do this, go to the WordPress Dashboard and click on the “SMTP by Connect” menu item under the Settings page. The first thing you need to do is delete all of the default values under the “Default Settings” tab so that you have room to enter your own settings. After doing this, scrpl down to the bottom of the page and click on the “Update Settings” button to save your changes. You will then see a new page open which shows all of the configuration options for SMTP by Connect. Scrpl down to the bottom of the page and click on “Save Changes”. As long as your settings are valid, you will see a success message which states that your settings have been saved successfully.
Step 4. Configure Gravity Forms Settings
Now that you have configured SMTP by Connect settings, you will need to configure the settings for Gravity Forms. To do this, go back to the WordPress Dashboard and click on the “Gravity Forms” menu item under the Settings page. Navigate to the section titled “SMTP Settings” and fill it out according to your preferences. For example, you can choose how many seconds should pass between each email being sent out through the mailer by setting the number of seconds under “Send Delay (seconds)”. Additionally, if you would like to use a separate email address than the one associated with your WordPress account for sending emails, you can change it under “Mail From Address”. Please note that this is required if you want to use a separate email address than your WordPress account for sending emails through Gravity Forms with SMTP by Connect. Once you have filled out all of the fields as necessary, scrpl down to the bottom of the page and click on “Save Changes”. If everything looks good, you will see a success message which states that your settings have been saved successfully. Now that everything is configured, we can now start using Gravity Forms with SMTP by Connect!
Step 5. Using Gravity Forms with SMTP by Connect
To start using Gravity Forms with SMTP by Connect, access any form that you want to send out via email and then click on the “Send Test Email” button located at the bottom of the form editing screen (the button will appear once you download and activate both Gravity Forms and SMTP by Connect. This will launch a popup window with some information about sending email via SMTP by Connect including your email address and password (if you used a different email address than your WordPress account when configuring your settings. Once you enter your credential information into the popup window and click on “Send Test Email”, a test email will be sent on your behalf using SMTP by Connect.
