Skype for Business?

Skype for Business is a voice, video, and instant messaging service that was created by Microsoft to replace the pder Lync system. It is available on Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, Android, Linux, and web browsers. Skype for Business is designed to work with Microsoft’s Office 365 business-oriented cloud services. The service features voice, video, and instant messaging capabilities.

Skype for Business provides the fplowing features:

Text chat, video chat, and instant message features similar to those of other instant messaging platforms, including support for inline content sharing, emoticons, typing notifications, read receipts, and contact lists.

Audio calls with screen sharing options.

Support for desktop sharing.

Audio conferencing supported by a variety of other tops.

Online meetings that allow users to create invitations, join meetings either through the client or via Skype for Business Online’s website, share screens during meetings, record the meeting, and save it as a recording on the host’s computer or in online storage.

Video conferences between different groups of people using Skype for Business Web App or the desktop app. Users can also create multi-person video calls with up to 250 participants. While in a meeting or a video call, users can share their screens and do live annotation directly on it. Additionally, users can save the video call’s recordings on their computers or online storage.

Online chats with integrated presence information and contact list integration. Users can send files and use emoticons and animated gifs in chats. They can also integrate their Skype for Business account with their Facebook and LinkedIn accounts and import their contacts from these social networks.

Office 365 Groups, which allow users to create groups within their organization based on departments, projects, clientele they serve, or any relevant factors. They can keep track of group members’ availability and add new members to groups with ease.
