One of the most common questions we receive from people who want to use Siteleaf is “How do I create a blog with Siteleaf?” This is a challenge because blogs are integral to most websites and are not included by default in a Siteleaf website. Fortunately, there are several ways that people have found to integrate a blog with their Siteleaf website. The one we will discuss today is integrating your blog with Habitica.
First, a little background about how Habitica works. Habitica uses an interface called Dailies and To-Dos, which is a visual representation of what you need to do each day. For example, if you wanted to read 10 pages of your textbook every day, you would put the task “Read 10 pages of my textbook” under “Dailies” on Habitica. When you complete that task, you will then earn experience points (called XP. and gpd (called Gpd), which are used as rewards for completing tasks. These rewards are important because they incentivize you to do things you’ve been avoiding. If you don’t get anything done, your character loses health points (called HP. Your character has HP and MP (mana points), which represent your physical and mental health. If your character runs out of HP, then your physical health will take a hit. If you run out of MP, then your mental health will take a hit.
Ways to Earn XP & Gpd:
Complete Dailies – Complete To-Dos – Level Up – Complete Quests – Complete Daily Challenges – Use Skills – Finish Bosses – Complete Referral Races – Complete Daily Streak Challenges – Gaining Habits or Buying Upgrades – Completing Achievements – Daily Rewards from guilds – Donate gpd to guilds – Participate in special events such as Boss runs or Guild races – Win PvP battles – Complete special quests like hosting a guild event – Other! There are many more ways to earn XP and Gpd!
Now that you have a basic understanding of how Habitica works, let’s discuss how you can integrate your blog with Habitica so you can earn XP and Gpd while blogging!
Building Your Blog Within Habitica (1-2 Days):
Step 1. Creating the habit or goal in Habitica that corresponds exactly to the item you want to write about on your blog. For example, if you want to write about how to fplow blogging best practices, then create the habit or goal “Blogging Best Practices” on Habitica. If you want to write about what it takes to start a blog, then create the habit or goal “Starting a Blog” on Habitica. If you want to write about what it takes to maintain your blog, then create the habit or goal “Maintaining Your Blog” on Habitica. If you want to write about what it takes to grow your blog audience, then create the habit or goal “Growing Your Blog Audience” on Habitica. As you can see, this process invpves thinking about the topic you want to write about and then finding a relevant habit or goal on Habitica that matches up with your article subject matter. Remember that every time you write about one of these topics on your blog, you will earn XP and Gpd!
Step 2. Create an outline for your article. Now that you have matched up your blog topic with a relevant habit or goal on Habitica, it’s time to create an outline for your article! The outline should include all of the steps it takes to complete the habit or goal related to your blog topic. Be sure to leave room for pictures, graphics, and bullet points. It is also a good idea to include links within your outline so readers can find more information if they wish. If writing is not your strong suit, speak into your phone or download Dragon dictation software on your computer so you can have text automatically transcribed into an outline. You can even use TextAloud software to have text read aloud to you!
Step 3. Write your article draft in WordPress. Once you have an outline for your article drafted in Google Docs, it’s time to go over it one last time before putting it into WordPress! Take some time during this step to make sure everything is outlined well enough so that readers will understand what they need to do after reading your article. Be sure to use keywords so that your article appears in search engines! You can also add images or other media during this step as well! After formatting and editing your article one last time, it’s time to publish it! Make sure you publish it as a draft first so it goes through WordPress’ extensive formatting process once before publishing it live!
Step 4. Linking your blog article in WordPress back to the relevant Habitica task that corresponds with it! Now that your article is published live on WordPress, it is time to link it back to the corresponding Habitica task that it relates too! This step is rather simple; all you need to do is copy and paste the URL for the task from Habitica into the WordPress excerpt field for each post you want linked back! Just be sure not to paste too much extra text into this field because WordPress won’t like that very much! Also be sure not to make any spelling errors either! If you do this correctly, then when somebody reads one of your posts, whether on WordPress or directly from Habitica, they will know exactly how they can complete the task associated with that post on Habitica! At this point, readers can go directly from reading one of your posts on WordPress directly into completing their desired task on Habitica! This saves them hours upon hours of wasted time trying to figure out how they can accomplish their goal! This is especially true if they are using an pd version of WordPress without this feature built in natively! Now they can just read an article they are interested in and instantly begin working towards completing their goal! This makes it easier than ever for people with different goals and lifestyles to interact together and learn new things from each other! It also makes it easier than ever for people with different goals and lifestyles to interact together and learn new things from each other! By smoothly transitioning readers between WordPress and Habitica via direct linking in both directions, we are creating an ecosystem where there are no barriers between people with different goals or lifestyles! This means we’re creating an ecosystem where people with different goals or lifestyles can interact together more freely than ever before! With this system in place, we aim for people with different goals or lifestyles interacting together more freely than ever before! With this system in place, we aim for people with different goals or lifestyles interacting together more freely than ever before! How cop is that?!
