Integration of simplesat and Zoho Desk

  • Integration of simplesat and Zoho Desk can be done using the Zoho Desk Connector. It allows users to add third party applications directly to Zoho Desk without changing code or leveraging any APIs. Third party applications can be accessed in Zoho Desk by selecting ‘Connect’ from the left navigation bar.
  • The Zoho Desk Connector can be used by installing the connector on the third party servers and creating connector accounts on the Zoho Desk website. After that users need to link their Zoho Desk account with their connector account. This is done by adding the connector account name on the Zoho Desk tenant account page on the Zoho Desk website.
  • Once the connectors are installed on the third party server, they will start gathering logs. This process can be monitored using the Logs tab found under Settings on the connector page on the Zoho Desk website.
  • The logs are then analyzed and an end user session id is generated which is used to build front end links for users of the third party app. The end user session id created needs to be pasted into the HTML of the webpage linked to by the third party app. This will enable users of that third party app to interact with Zoho Desk without them needing to sign up for an account.
  • Whenever a user submits a ticket through Zoho Desk Connector, the action is logged on the connector status page shown below.
