ShipStation has been around for a while, but it wasn’t until they developed Filter by Connect that they really took off. Filter by Connect and how does it work? There are two parts to Filter by Connect. an app that you install on your iOS device (iPhone or iPad. and an app on a Windows computer. The Windows app is really just a plugin to ShipStation, but the iOS app is where the magic happens. The iOS app sends data via Bluetooth so that the data can be accessed on the Windows app. If you are using the Mac version of ShipStation, then you can use the Apple Watch as a way to get data from the iOS app to your computer.
The real magic happens when you combine data from the iOS app with the data from your ShipStation account(s. For example, in my retail business, I have a spreadsheet with all of my products in it along with information about each product such as price, weight, dimensions and so forth. By running a report in ShipStation for a specific product, I can see how much it would cost me to ship. In the iOS app, I can scan the barcode on a product and ShipStation will pull up all of the information about that product so that I can easily compare it to other products. When I scan a product, I can assign it to one of 10 bins that I created in ShipStation. So what happens is that every time I scan a product, it gets added to the appropriate bin in ShipStation. Because I am using the same report that I use to build out my shipping costs, everything is automatically updated. This makes it super easy for me to know exactly how much it costs to ship each product and I don’t have to do any math!
While this has helped me increase my profit margins by 20%, it doesn’t stop there. As I mentioned earlier, the real power comes from being able to assign products to specific bins. By doing this, I have also been able to increase my conversion rate by roughly 20%. Why would this possibly be?
