shippit is a shipping API. It allows you to send and receive tracking numbers with carriers such as UPS, FedEx and USPS.
Quick Base is an application platform that allows you to create custom business applications. It provides a drag and drop interface that makes it easy for non-programmers to build applications.
I will be showing how I integrated shippit and Quick Base using the shippit API. I am going to walk you through the steps I took in order to integrate those two things.
To start off, I created a new project in Quick Base. I then imported the template from the shippit website into my project. Then I went through each of the tabs and filled out the information needed for that section. The first tab was carrier settings, which allowed me to enter in shipping carrier information. Next was the carrier status tab, which allowed me to test out different shipping carriers. Finally, the package setting tab allowed me to enter information about the packages being shipped. Once those three sections were complete, I could go ahead and ship the packages by creating a new package on the package detail page. Once the package was created, I created a new shipment number for each package. Once I had all of my shipments created, I was able to map out a route for each package, which would allow me to set the exact time they would leave and arrive at their destination. I could also track where each package was in the process of being shipped by checking the status of each shipment number. After I finished all of this, I could go ahead and route the packages using their shipment numbers. Once all of this was completed, I was able to look back on all of my data associated with the package and view them on a map. This allowed me to see where all of my packages were at any given time. Finally, I could go ahead and view all of my shipment details by clicking on each shipment number. I could do this by simply clicking on a shipment number and navigating through each section one at a time. This made it easy for me to find specific information about the package, including tracking number and status info, as well as who the package was shipped to, where it was shipped from, and when it arrived at its destination.
Integrating Quick Base and shippit can help with a lot of things, including customer service and shipping information. This allows people to easily figure out where there package is at any given time using detailed tracking information, including tracking numbers and tracking history, which makes it easy for customers to know exactly where there packages are at any given time. Another benefit of integrating Quick Base and shippit is that you can use detailed information about your shipments available online so you can analyze shipment trends around your company or even see what kinds of products are being shipped most frequently throughout your company. You could also use shippit with Quick Base to give customers access to their shipments even when they aren’t at work or home by sending them an email with a link to an encrypted file with all of their shipment history attached to it. This can help you stay up to date on real-time shipments as well as customer service requests, making it easier for you to stay organized throughout your day.
