Integration of SharpSpring and Webex Messaging

SharpSpring is a software platform that enables businesses to manage their inbound marketing. It allows them to create, manage and track email marketing campaigns in one easy-to-use interface. It also integrates with the leading ecommerce platforms including Magento, Shopify, Bigcommerce, WooCommerce, Squarespace and many more.

Cisco® Webex Teams is a video conferencing and online meeting service that helps companies and organizations to connect and cplaborate with each other easily. It is a cloud-based version of the Cisco WebEx enterprise communication and cplaboration platform.

Integration of SharpSpring and Cisco® Webex Teams

Integration of SharpSpring and Cisco® Webex Teams can be performed through two methods:

  • Using the SharpSpring email action
  • Using the SharpSpring integration with Cisco® Webex Teams

Using the SharpSpring Email Action

An email action is a piece of code that runs on your site and triggers a response when a visitor clicks it. This response could be an email sent from your email system or a page that opens on your website. The email action can be triggered by clicking on a link, button, or image on your website. Before integrating SharpSpring and Cisco® Webex Teams, you need to connect your SharpSpring account to your Cisco® Webex Teams account as fplows:

  • Go to the ‘Email Actions’ page under ‘Contact Management’ section in the ‘Channels’ menu.
  • Click on the ‘New Email Action’ button.
  • Select the appropriate channel from the drop-down list and click on ‘Create Email Action’ button.
  • On the ‘Email Action’ page, enter a name for your email action, select ‘Email’ from the ‘Trigger Type’ drop-down list and click on ‘Continue’ button.
  • In the ‘From Email Address’ field, specify the address from which the email will be sent, if required. If you select ‘Blank’ from the drop-down list, then your email action will send emails from your normal email address using your default reply-to email address. If you want to send emails from a specific email address, then complete the fields as per your requirement and click on the ‘Continue’ button. Note that you have to give permission for this email address to send mail as per your current configuration. In case you do not have permission for sending mail as per your current setting, then update the settings as per your requirement and try again.
  • In the ‘Subject’ field, enter a subject for the email message, if required. The subject of your email should be short because it appears truncated in SharpSpring reports along with other details like recipient name, message type etc. Click on ‘Continue’ button.
  • In the ‘Message body’ field, enter the message body text (in HTML format only), if required. The maximum length of message body is limited to 4046 characters. Click on the ‘Continue’ button.
  • In the ‘Recipient Address’ field, enter an address for each recipient (separate multiple addresses with commas), if required. If you want to select recipients from your organization first, then click on the ‘Add Recipients From Organization’ link underneath this field. After adding recipients first, you can edit/remove them by clicking on the checkbox next to each recipient address and clicking on the ‘Edit Recipient’ or ‘Delete Recipient’ link respectively. Click on the ‘Continue’ button after adding/editing recipients first if required. If you do not want to specify any recipients then leave this field blank and click on the ‘Continue’ button. The maximum number of recipients that can be added is 20 per submission (per day. Note that you can also upload a CSV file containing recipient information if required, but make sure that the file has only one recipient per line. Click on ‘Continue’ button after uploading recipients first if required.
  • In the ‘CC Address’ field, enter an address for each CC (separate multiple addresses with commas), if required. If you want to select recipients from your organization first, then click on the ‘Add CCs From Organization’ link underneath this field. After adding recipients first, you can edit/remove them by clicking on the checkbox next to each recipient address and clicking on the ‘Edit CC’ or ‘Delete CC’ link respectively. Click on the ‘Continue’ button after adding/editing recipients first if required. If you do not want to specify any recipients then leave this field blank and click on the ‘Continue’ button. The maximum number of CCs that can be added is 20 per submission (per day. Note that you can also upload a CSV file containing recipient information if required, but make sure that the file has only one CC per line. Click on ‘Continue’ button after uploading recipients first if required.
  • In the ‘Reply To Address’ field, enter an address for each Reply To (separate multiple addresses with commas), if required. If you want to select recipients from your organization first, then click on the ‘Add Replies From Organization’ link underneath this field. After adding recipients first, you can edit/remove them by clicking on the checkbox next to each recipient address and clicking on the ‘Edit Reply To’ or ‘Delete Reply To’ link respectively. Click on the ‘Continue’ button after adding/editing recipients first if required. If you do not want to specify any recipients then leave this field blank and click on the ‘Continue’ button. The maximum number of Reply To addresses that can be added is 20 per submission (per day. Note that you can also upload a CSV file containing recipient information if required, but make sure that the file has only one Reply To per line. Click on ‘Continue’ button after uploading recipients first if required.
  • On the next screen, configure additional details related to your campaign such as campaign title & description, campaign start & end dates & times, action URL etc., if required. Click on ‘Save Action Settings’ button once you are done configuring all settings related to this email action. Now go to Cisco® Webex Teams section in SharpSpring admin conspe and create an Event Action under Events & Actions > Event Action section in ‘Channels’ menu as described below:
  • Under Events & Actions > Event Action section in left sidebar menu, click on 'New' button at top of page to open New Action form on right side of page under Action List section of page (for Action List section use 'Show All', 'Default Action', or 'All Action List' displayed on top of Action List section.
  • Enter an Action Name where you want to create an event action item under Action Name heading in Action Detail form on right side of page under Action List section of page (for Action List section use 'Show All', 'Default Action', or 'All Action List' displayed on top of Action List section. You may also choose default Action Name under Actions & Triggers section of page (for Actions & Triggers section use 'Show All' or 'Default Action'. For new Action Name enter default Action Name under Actions & Triggers section of page (for Actions & Triggers section use 'Show All' or 'Default Action'. in Additional Information area near top of New Action form in right sidebar menu under Action List section of page (for Action List section use 'Show All', 'Default Action', or 'All Action List' displayed on top of Action List section.
