Facebook Shops?

Facebook Shops is an online platform that allows shoppers to purchase products directly from brands. Facebook is the owner of this platform. The Facebook Shop allows brands to create pages where they can showcase products and information about their business. Facebook users can like these pages so that they can stay up-to-date with new products or special offers. When users “like” a page they will receive newsfeed updates from the brand. However brand pages can be customized so that users cannot see updates if the brand does not want them to see it.

Facebook launched Facebook Shop in 2011 to give brands another distribution channel through which they can sell their products directly to consumers. Facebook Shop was created to help brands build an audience of fplowers who are interested in their brand/products without having to spend lots of money on advertising. Brands using Facebook Shop are able to sell their products via Facebook using Facebook’s buyer-seller model which is a simple way for a brand to sell directly to buyers. Buyers can browse the products posted by the brands they fplow and then buy those products directly from the brand’s Facebook page. Brands are able to track how much product is being spd and how much revenue they are generating from each product as well as post comments about each product for social engagement.
