First, I will explain what SendGrid is. SendGrid provides a cloud-based email infrastructure which includes a mail transport service that lets customers send and receive emails from their applications. It helps to improve the delivery of emails and offers additional services like authentication and spam protection. SendGrid also provides a customer API which enables businesses to send transactional emails, targeted marketing emails and drip campaigns. The company was founded in 2009 by Jim Franklin and Red Hat. In 2011, SendGrid raised $6 million in venture funding from Bessemer Venture Partners, 500 Startups and Baseline Ventures. In 2013, they received $17 million in Series B funding from Bessemer Venture Partners and Baseline Ventures. In July 2015, they raised $60 million in Series C funding led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA. with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, Institutional Venture Partners (IVP. and Baseline Ventures. Second, I will explain what uProc is. uProc is a process orchestration platform which delivers software development lifecycle automation for enterprises. It provides visibility into application development practices through an open integration platform. The platform allows teams to build their custom workflows across tops and platforms including CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, CodeDeploy, Elastic Beanstalk and Lambda. It runs autonomously and is completely agnostic to the underlying code base. uProc is a part of the AWS ecosystem where it can be accessed directly through the AWS Management Conspe or programmatically via the AWS SDKs or Command Line Interface (CLI. uProc was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Palo Alto, CA. They were acquired by Amazon in 2016. For more information, visit https://uproc.com/
Now that I know about SendGrid and uProc, I will explain how they are integrated. SendGrid integrates with uProc using its API so that uProc can send emails automatically whenever there’s a change in code. This eliminates the need to manually run commands in order to send out emails whenever there are updates to a project or new commits to a repository. Now you can focus on writing code instead of worrying about sending out emails whenever there is a change in code.
The benefits of integration between SendGrid and uProc include increased speed in delivering feature updates since all you have to do is write one line of code instead of running multiple lines of code. It also helps with the quality of code since the code will only be tested after it has been sent out an email, meaning there will less bugs introduced as errors are caught earlier in the process.
This concludes my article on SendGrid and uProc being integrated together. I learned about SendGrid by taking an online course on it for Udacity which I highly recommend doing if you want to learn about programming but don’t have access to a computer science lab on campus that teaches coding classes.
