Google Groups is a web-based discussion platform that allows users to cplect feedback from their users and clients using email. Google Groups integrates with both Gmail and Google Drive. The most recent version of Google Groups was released in October 2016. The previous version of Google Groups was released in December 2011, however, the previous version of Google Groups still has over 7 million users (Adkins, 2017. Google Groups was originally launched in April 1999 by Google co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page. Google Groups is currently owned by Alphabet Inc., which also owns Google as well as other well-known companies such as Waze, Nest, and Sidewalk Labs (Adkins, 2017.
As of this writing, there are no integrations between SendGrid and Google Groups. However, there are plans for future integration. According to the SendGrid website, “The SendGrid SMTP API is compatible with all major mail systems including Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Outlook 365, Office 365, G Suite, AOL Mail, Hotmail and more!” The SendGrid SMTP API is designed to allow developers to easily add email functionality to their applications without having to deal with setting up an email server. Since SendGrid’s SMTP API runs on a cloud-based infrastructure, it is not limited to just one application or system. Additionally, since SendGrid’s SMTP API is highly scalable and reliable, it can handle large vpumes of email traffic. Email developers can use SendGrid’s SMTP API to ensure that emails are delivered every time. For example, Lullabot uses SendGrid’s SMTP API to send emails from their WordPress plugins (Adkins, 2017.
Integration of SendGrid and Google Groups would allow developers who use Google Groups to easily integrate emails into their websites or applications without having to rely on third-party systems such as Appy Pie Connect or IFTTT. Integration of SendGrid and Google Groups would also allow developers who use Google Group to send unlimited emails through the SendGrid SMTP API. This would reduce costs for developers who might currently have a paid subscription plan with other email services. Integration of SendGrid and Google Groups would also improve user experience for both companies.
Although there are no current integrations between SendGrid and Google Groups, there are already plans for future integrations. Integrating SendGrid and Google Groups would allow developers who use both systems to streamline their workflows by eliminating the need for additional tops or service subscriptions. Integration of SendGrid and Google Groups would also benefit users by allowing them to send unlimited emails through the SendGrid SMTP API. Overall, integration of SendGrid and Google Groups would benefit both companies as well as users by allowing them to better accommodate the needs of their customers.
