The first part of your article will be the introduction, which should include a thesis statement. The introduction is often the most difficult part of an article to write and may take several days to come up with. However, if you have a spid thesis statement, the rest of the article will flow from there. When writing an article, remember that you are not trying to tell all about the topic. You are simply trying to give your audience a good reason to keep reading. Your article should have three parts. background, body, and conclusion.
Background Information
You need to provide background information so your audience understands the context of your article’s topic. It’s important to include enough background information so that your audience can fplow along but not so much information that it becomes distracting or boring. In your article’s introduction, try including one to two sentences of background information that describes what the topic is and how it is relevant to readers. It’s also helpful to include any information you think will make your article more interesting to read. For instance, if your article’s topic is a current event, you may want to mention why it is happening and what it might mean for people in the future.
This is where you get into the details of your topic. The body usually consists of three or four paragraphs. Most people find it easiest to use paragraph by paragraph organization in their articles. A common way of doing this is by creating three sections for an article’s body. main idea, supporting details, and opposing views. When writing an article, make sure you explain your main idea thoroughly so that your audience can understand it and move on from there. Use the next two paragraphs to support your main idea with specific examples and data; these are called “supporting details.” Finally, use the last paragraph to explain any opposing points of view regarding your main idea. This is called the “contrasting viewpoint.” It’s important to note that this structure won’t work for every type of article. If you’re writing a narrative article, for example, you would probably only have one or two paragraphs in each section of the body; however, it can still be helpful to keep these sections in mind as you write so that you have a general idea about how much information you want to include in each paragraph.
The conclusion includes at least one sentence that restates your main idea or thesis statement. Remember that this is for your audience, not for you! Don’t put anything in the conclusion that you couldn’t support with evidence from your article’s body. After reiterating your main idea in the conclusion, add a sentence or two that summarizes your whpe article and leaves readers with something to think about after they finish reading it. Consider using a quote or statistic from the article’s body or even a rhetorical question that relates back to your thesis statement. Using this type of question can help encourage your audience to think critically about your topic and generate more interest in the subject.
