eBay Inc. is an American online auction and e-commerce company with headquarters in San Jose, California. It was founded in 1995 by Pierre Omidyar. From 2008 to 2015, eBay’s revenue increased from $4.5 billion to $8.4 billion. Its website is accessible in 190 countries and has more than 140 million registered users. (eBay, n.d.)
