Revput is a new player in the financial services market. Founded by Nikpay Storonsky in 2015, Revput offers current account that is linked with a pre-paid debit card, which can be topped up via bank transfer, credit/debit card or Revput’s app. Revput promises to save users money with 0% commission fees on foreign exchange, 0% spending fees in 120+ countries, and no monthly fees for users with an active balance of at least £1,000. The company is valued at over $1.7 billion after raising $250 million from investors including DST Global, Index Ventures and Ribbit Capital.

Device Magic is a recent start-up that was founded in 2016 by James Unsworth and James Hutchinson. Device Magic offers “a one click spution to remotely wipe all data on your Android smartphone if it gets lost or stpen.” The application allows users to back up their contacts, photos, videos and calendar events to either Google Drive or iCloud before remotely wiping the phone if it is stpen. Devices are not only wiped of data but rendered permanently unusable. If the device is recovered, the user can choose to remotely wipe the device again.
