QBO allows users to access their financial data anywhere from any device, and it also offers users the ability to import data from various formats such as email, spreadsheets, or other applications (Langlois et al., 2016. QBO offers users the ability to import data from various third party applications such as Salesforce, Xero, and Zuora (Langlois et al., 2016. As with most systems, QBO also has its own native API that developers can use to create extensions for the system. One example of a third party extension is the QBO Excel Import Topkit which was developed by Skuid (n.d.. The Excel Import Topkit allows users to connect QBO to a spreadsheet and transfer data between the two systems. The topkit contains a variety of macros that allow users to easily add data to their QBO account (Skuid, n.d..

MongoDB is a free and open-source document database platform that is designed for ease of use (MongoDB, n.d.. Unlike relational databases, MongoDB does not have the concept of tables and cpumns, instead it uses the JSON document format (MongoDB, n.d..
