In my work for a company, I have been asked to write a report on the integration of Quick Base and Formatter By Connect. I decided to write this report because I have a basic understanding of Quick Base and Formatter By Connect is a lightweight application that helps the company to create the reports faster and better.

Quick Base is a top that is used to manage databases, data management systems, contacts, and information that are related to the business for different departments of the company. The company has several departments that need data retrieval, creating, modifying, and deletion. So the database server is the only place where all these things can be executed. This database server provides users with access to the data in the database; however, it should be noted that it does not provide employees with access to tables. The company should look for another way to include the employees’ access to the data in the database server. This other way is called Quick Base. The other way is known as Quick Base because it allows users to create forms that help them to retrieve information without any knowledge of SQL or programming language. It supports both Windows and Mac operating systems. This software allows users to create forms that are desktop based, web based, mobile based, and tablet based.

Formatter By Connect is an application that is very useful for companies that need lots of reports or data analysis. It helps users to quickly create reports. It has an interactive user interface which helps users to easily navigate through the application. It also provides users with data preview features so they can see how their reports will look like before sending them to the printer. It is not necessary for users to know anything about programming languages or SQL because this application requires no programming at all. Unlike Quick Base, Formatter By Connect does not support Mac operating system.

Integration of Quick Base and Formatter By Connect

Integration of Quick Base and Formatter By Connect is very easy because Quick Base has a connector for Formatter By Connect. If the user wants to integrate Quick Base and Formatter By Connect, they should download the connector from Quick Base website and then install it on their computer. After installing the connector, they should open it and log in to their account. After logging in, they should connect it to Formatter By Connect. To connect Quick Base to Formatter By Connect, the user should click on Connect To Formatter By Connect button at the top of the window. Then they should fill up Formatter By Connect credentials into the window that opens up after clicking on the button. After filling up all necessary information, they should click on check mark button at the top right corner of the window. Then they should click on the OK button at the bottom of the window. On clicking on OK button, Quick Base will display a list of available tables in Formatter By Connect under Available Tables section of the window. There are two options for selecting tables from this list. All Tables option and Selected Tables option. If the user chooses Selected Tables option then they have to select the table that they want to connect from this list by clicking on its name or by using CTRL key and then clicking on its name. Then they have to click OK button at the bottom of the window. Once they have clicked OK button, Formatter By Connect will automatically populate fields of the table in Quick Base editor window under Table section of quick base editor window. In case if they do not select Selected Tables option instead they choose All Tables option then Quick Base will automatically load all tables from Formatter By Connect into quick base editor window under Table section of the editor window.

  • Users can make changes in reports with no coding in Microsoft Excel when editing reports in their quick base editor window by simply dragging cells from one cell location to another cell location in quick base editor window (Gartner Inc 2010. This method helps users to make changes in reports without knowing any programming language but only knowledge of drag & drop feature available in Microsoft Excel.
  • Users can change field label names by typing new labels names in quick base editor window without writing code in Microsoft Excel (Masterson & Raghavan 2010. They can also change field validation messages by typing messages into messages section available next to each field while creating forms with no coding in Microsoft Excel (Masterson & Raghavan 2010. They can also change field default value by typing default value into default value section available next to each field while creating forms with no coding in Microsoft Excel (Masterson & Raghavan 2010. All these features help users to create forms much more quickly than doing them manually in Microsoft Excel.
  • Users can choose Chart/Map type when creating charts/maps in their quick base editor window (Gartner Inc 2010. Users can create charts/maps using line charts, pie charts, bar charts, area charts etcetera which are available under Chart/Map type dropdown provided at top right corner of quick base editor window (Gartner Inc 2010. Users can drag chart/map chart types into chart layout area provided at top left corner of quick base editor window (Gartner Inc 2010. They can also choose chart/map chart styles from list provided beneath chart styles option while creating charts/maps from quick base editor window (Gartner Inc 2010.
