Integration of Qlik Sense and MySQL

Qlik Sense comes with a built in connector for MySQL. This connector allows users to integrate Qlik Sense with their MySQL databases. Qlik Sense automatically creates a connection with the user’s MySQL databases. Once the connection is established, users can create charts and tables from their databases. Users can also build dashboards using visualizations from their databases.

Qlik Sense integrates with MySQL through ODBC or JDBC connectors. By using JDBC connectors, users can connect to multiple databases at once. This allows users to aggregate data from multiple sources through a single connection. This feature is especially useful for users who need to pull data from multiple sources. For example, a car dealership would want to aggregate data from their accounting database and inventory database through one connection. This feature is only available on version 10 of Qlik Sense.

Users can create data models through the Data Modeler interface for Qlik Sense. This feature allows users to easily map out their database schema and create relationships between tables and cpumns within their database system. Users can create data models based on existing database schemas or create new schemas that do not exist within their database systems. This allows users to design databases that best fit their needs and the needs of their company. The Data Modeler interface helps avoid mistakes made when manually creating connections between tables and cpumns within a database system.

The Data Modeler interface can be accessed by clicking “Data Modeler” on the top navigation bar of the Qlik Sense interface screen or by clicking “Data Modeler” under “Create Dashboard” within the Qlik Sense application itself. Users can create new data models by clicking “New Data Model” and then choosing between “Data model from existing schema” or “Data model from schema definition” options. Users can also click “Import Data Model From Database” option under “New Data Model” menu to import databases into the Data Modeler interface directly from an existing database system. Users can then choose between “Data model from existing table definition” or “Data model from table creation script” options to create new data models based on pre-existing database tables or tables that are created within the Data Modeler interface itself using the SQL editor option located under “Script Wizard” menu option within the Qlik Sense interface itself. This feature provides data modeling flexibility for users who want to design their own custom data models without needing assistance from an IT department or database administrator.

The Data Modeler interface provides users with total contrp over what data they want to include in their database systems via the ‘Select Tables’ tab located under ‘Design Table Schema’ menu option within the Data Modeler interface itself. Users have the option to include all tables in their database system or select individual tables based on whether or not they want them included within their database system via the ‘Include selected tables only’ check box option located below all table options within the Data Modeler interface itself. The Data Modeler interface allows users to specify how they want rows sorted within each table via the ‘Sort order of rows’ drop-down menu located below each table within the Data Modeler interface itself. Users can choose between ascending (Asc. or descending (Dsc. sort orders depending on how they want rows sorted within each table defined within their database systems. The Data Modeler interface allows users to export existing data models either as SQL scripts using the ‘Export Data Model’ option located under ‘Script Wizard’ menu option within the Qlik Sense interface itself or as PDF files by clicking ‘Export As PDF’ located under ‘File’ menu option within the Data Modeler interface itself. The Data Modeler interface automatically creates CSV files whenever users decide to export data models as CSV files instead of PDF files via the File menu option within the Data Modeler interface itself. The Data Modeler interface also allows users to import existing CSV files into their data models via the ‘Import CSV File Into Data Model’ option located under File menu option within the Data Modeler interface itself.
