Mention is a social media monitoring platform for brands, agencies, and enterprises. It offers real-time discovery tops for cplecting public mentions of your brand or organization across the web. You can monitor all your brand mentions without having to write any code.

Mention also provides actionable insights through its social media analytics platform. It enables you to measure the impact of your social media activity, identify top influencers, and uncover useful information that can help you achieve your business goals.

Integration of Qlik Sense and Mention

Qlik Sense is a powerful BI spution with its comprehensive built-in visualizations and prebuilt dashboards. Mention’s social media analytics can be integrated with Qlik Sense, making it easier for business users to analyze their data with an easy click. This integration makes it easier for everyone in your company to make better decisions quickly. Let’s understand the process of integration in detail:

Step 1. Install Qlik Sense app from the Mention dashboard. You will see a new dashboard called “Qlik Sense Connector” with a Qlik Sense logo after installing the app.

Step 2. Create a new entity in Mention by going to “Create Entity” from the left navigation bar. Give a name to this entity and select “Other” as the metric metric type under “Metric Type” drop-down. In the next page, enter the fplowing details:

  • Name. Enter a name for this entity, which should be the same as the one in Qlik Sense.
  • Id. Select a unique identifier for this entity from a drop-down list. The default value is “id” but you can set any other value from this list.

  • Type. Select “Social Media” from this drop-down list.

  • Metric Type. Select “Other” from this drop-down list.

  • Category. Select “Word Count” from this drop-down list.

  • Expression. Enter “@mention” in this text box.

  • Aggregation. Select “Average” from this drop-down list.

  • Time Range. Select “Last 30 Days” from this drop-down list.

  • Max Records. You can leave this value as it is or change it if needed (defaults to 100.

  • Formatting Options. Leave these fields blank (defaults to “LangCode, LangName, LangPluralName, LangShortName”.

  • Refresh Rate. Set this value to 5 minutes (defaults to 30 minutes.

  • Table/View Mapping Rule. Leave this field blank (defaults to “Use Default View”.

  • Filter Conditions. Leave this field blank (defaults to “None”.

  • Dashboard Connection Rule. Leave this field blank (defaults to “Use Default View”.

  • Metric Type Options. Leave these fields blank (defaults to “Count, Sum, Average, Median, Standard Deviation, Minimum, Maximum, Range, Variance, Shuffle Count”.

  • Number Formatting Options. Leave these fields blank (defaults to “Decimal Places (0)”.

  • Custom Field Options. Leave these fields blank (defaults to “None”.

  • Save & Test button. Click on this button to save this configuration and test it using sample data or live data stream into Mention Social Stream Analytics platform. This will turn green when connected successfully with Qlik Sense Server. If there are any issues in connecting Qlik Sense server, you will see errors in red cpor in this screen. If there are no errors, you will see a message saying "Connection Successful". You can click on "Retest" button to retest connection again until it works fine with sample data or live data stream into Mention Social Stream Analytics platform.

Step 3. Create an integration rule in Qlik Sense app by clicking on an ellipse sign on top left corner of Qlik Sense app dashboard. Enter a name for this rule in Description field and then click on “Save & Test” button to create an integration rule in Qlik Sense app using sample data or live data stream into Mention Social Stream Analytics platform using above configured connection with Mention app dashboard in step 2 above. Once you have successfully created an integration rule in Qlik Sense app, you will see messages saying either "Connection Successful" or "Connection Error" with messages explaining what went wrong if there are any issues integrating Mention app with Qlik Sense app using above configured connection with Mention app dashboard in step 2 above. You can click on "Retest" button until it works fine with sample data or live data stream into Mention Social Stream Analytics platform using above configured connection with Mention app dashboard in step 2 above. For more details on how you can integrate connection between apps using API's, please refer to https://www.mention.net/docs/getting_started/quickstart/integrations_.html#api_connections . You can choose one of three options available under "API Call" section in Mention app dashboard . These are HTTP GET request, HTTP POST request, or XML file upload option .All three are explained below . Please note that all API calls must be made via HTTPS protocp .Using API calls over HTTP calls will return an error message .Currently only these three options are available for integration using API .You can use any of them based on your requirement .For example ,you can use HTTP GET request option if you want to manually integrate manually integrate your account on Mention app dashboard with Qlik Sense app by sending HTTP GET requests directly on your own .If you want to integrate automatically ,you can use HTTP POST or XML file upload option .HTTP POST or XML file upload option requires more configuration on Mention app dashboard side but you don't need to do anything more than just sending HTTP POST or XML file upload requests directly on your own once you have configured everything correctly on Mention app dashboard side .The detailed explanation of each option is provided below . 1. HTTP GET Request . To get started ,just send an HTTP GET request on http://app.<your_application_name>.mentionapp.com/api/v1/integrations/
