Amazon S3 is a service of storage offered by Amazon Web Services (AWS. It is a reliable, low-latency, high-throughput storage system in the cloud. It is designed for 99.999999999% durability and stores data as objects within buckets.

According to AWS, “S3 offers simple storage infrastructure at massive scale”. Storage units of S3 can be accessed from anywhere and any device that supports HTTP/HTTPS. This includes web servers, mobile apps, and applications running on EC2 instances.

AWS has different regions in United States; Asia Pacific; EU; and Africa; Europe; Middle East; and West India. Each region has a number of availability zones. The availability zones are independent hardware sites that are developed and managed as if they are separate locations. There are four types of availability zones. single-zone, multi-zone, regional, and global.

A single-zone region has one availability zone. Multiple servers are hosted in each single-zone availability zone. A multi-zone region consists of multiple availability zones hosting multiple servers. A regional availability zone consists of multiple availability zones located close to each other in order to provide higher bandwidth. A global availability zone consists of multiple availability zones that are spread across multiple regions. Global availability zones offer lower latency since there is less distance between the data center where the data is stored and the application that retrieves it.

ProfitWell and Amazon S3 can be integrated through ProfitWell’s integration with Stripe and Amazon S3. Stripe is used by ProfitWell since it enables ProfitWell to easily connect with a bank account or credit card to cplect any payments made by its users. Stripe transfers money directly into ProfitWell’s bank account so that it can immediately use it for profit purposes.
