Formatter By Connect is an integration top created by Formatter. This top enables you to connect the data in your Salesforce CRM with the data in Pipedrive. Through this integration, you can create in real time Pipedrive tasks from any contact or opportunity in Salesforce.

Integration of Pipedrive and Formatter By Connect

Formatter By Connect enables you to create new tasks in Pipedrive from any opportunity or contact in Salesforce. This integration works two ways:

Inbound. Pipedrive creates tasks from Salesforce opportunities or contacts (Salesforce has to be connected first)

Pipedrive creates tasks from Salesforce opportunities or contacts (Salesforce has to be connected first. Outbound. Pipedrive creates tasks from Salesforce opportunities or contacts (if they are not already connected to Pipedrive)

When creating a task in Pipedrive, Formatter By Connect automatically creates a corresponding entry in Salesforce. The fields that are used to fill out the Salesforce entry are specific to the field type used in the source of the task creation (Salesforce opportunity or contact. For example, if you use a text field as the source of the task creation, the corresponding Salesforce entry will contain the data from this field (in this case, the name of the contact. If you use a number field as the source of the task creation, the number is used as the Salesforce entry. If you use a date field as the source of the task creation, then the date that is used for this entry is the date of creation stored in the date field. If you use a date range field as the source of the task creation, then the date range is used as a string for the Salesforce entry. If you use numeric fields for the source of the task creation, then multiple entries are created in Salesforce depending on how many times the number was entered. For example, if you use 4 numeric fields as the source of a task creation, then 4 entries will be created in Salesforce. Each entry will include a different value for each field (for instance, one entry will have one value for field A, another value for field B, etc.. In addition to creating entries in Salesforce, Formatter By Connect also adds some fields to each of these entries. These fields are named “pipedrive_task_created_from” and contain either “opportunity” or “contact” depending on where the task was created from. The values stored in these fields are formatted by Formatter By Connect according to its configuration file (more on this below. You can also see all of these changes by looking at your Salesforce records through “Pipedrive Task Created From” view.
